Hey!
what is the meaning of this marking (Three squares in a checkerboard config) that I find mostly on UK runways??
thanks!
Henri
Moved to User Support Hub Scenery & Airports that is more appropriate for community support.
That is the aiming point.
@Maki152 statement is correct:
I haven’t found any countries other than the UK that use this aimpoint style, and even then it’s really hit and miss. Take for instance EGLL, which used to use this style until about 7-8 years ago and switched to the solid block aimpoints.
UK also uses the single stripe per side touchdown zone marks. There are several countries that use that (1-1/A-1-1-1-1) style, but many more that use a 3-3/A-2-2-1-1 style. There isn’t a single airport in the world that uses the precision markings as rendered in the sim (1-A-2-2-1-1).
@HENRI7477704 : does your screenshot is from a runway in MSFS2020 or from real life ?
It’s real life, but I just thought I could ask here, as I see that in the sim…
