Tracker IR with World Update 5

Is anyone else having the system Hang, Freeze or Crash with Tracker IR since the most recent world update (Nordics). I have had this happen 5-6 times (easily), is that MSFS is freezing / hanging when the Tracker IR is paused and then made active again.

In the transition out of (Tracker IR paused, not MSFS) pause to active for the tracker IR, the system will freeze about 4-5 second after Tracker IR becomes active. The view will pan and function for about 5-10 seconds before it will freeze. I am just curious if this only me or if anyone else has experienced this. Prior to work update 5, it was able to do this without any problems at all. So I suspect it might have come about with the recent update. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for tracker IR with no change in the performance.

Just curious is I am alone in this issue?

I too have had about 2 freezes when using Track IR. Just after I spawn at the airport and pan around in both cockpit and external view. Not quite convinced its an issue with Track IR though.

No problems here.

Not full system crashes or freezes.

But I had problems with Track IR itself no working on FS2020. It just hung up and stopped reading the sensor position. View in FS2020 was skewed, frozen in the weird position my head was in when the tracker stoppen working. Nothing I did on FS´s alowed me to recover the correct view.

Don´t know if its a problem with FS / Windows, IR Tracker itself, or just chance, but it happened after the update, and had never happened before.

I have no issues so far…

Thanks for the feed back. Todate, I have had no issue with the Track IR. I did another flight, did not pause the Track IR and with had no issue. I did another flight, paused the tracker and it froze the program. I think the issue is on the MSFS side, Track IR runs fine on X-Plane and FSX.

For those who have control issues being detected and then not detected, it may be a power issue for the game controller. If connecting USB controllers to the PC via a hub may cause power issues for the game controller. I have gone from 1 powered USB hub to 2 powered USB HUBs and do not have issues with controller dropping off or becoming unresponsive. I am limiting each hub to no more then 5 HID devices.

If you are not using a powered USB hub, I recommend that you do. The controllers can become unstable when line voltages drops below 5 volts (even if momentarily).

Since a few days my TrackIR becomes unresponsive after pausing it or loading a new flight. Restarting TrackIR doesn’t solve it. I have to restart the PC to get it going again. It’s such a unnecessary waste of time.

I have no issues so far too…

I pause track IR often and have not experienced this issue.

@ROTORheadAPRN What are your selective suspend power settings set to under power settings? Is it enabled by chance? This is under Power & Sleep, Additional Power Settings, Change Plan Settings, Change Advanced Power Settings and scroll down to USB Settings.

TrackIR 5 and all good here.

Bingo…

USB power saving was enabled. (It is now disable)
Thank you kindly! I really appreciate the input!
