Transfer to ssd

I installed MSFS2020 on one of my hard disks, but because of the low speed when starting up I want to transfer it to a new 500Gb SSD. How do I do that, since some of the files cannot be changed?

Use the search function to find the ‘Moving flight simulator problem’ thread. You will find an explanation there.

Don’t make the same mistake that I did. I originally had MSFS installed on my secondary (D: drive) HDD, which was painfully slow. I decided to upgrade it to an SSD and cloned the drive using the software that came with the SSD. I assumed that would be the simplest process, but I was so wrong. The Microsoft store would not recognize anything I had originally had installed, even though everything was supposed cloned to the new drive. After hours of trying to resolve the issue, and out of frustration, I ended up restoring my OS on the C: drive and reinstalled all the games on the new D: drive that were messed up.

Thankfully the only thing I use this laptop for is gaming and my documents are backed up in the cloud so I didn’t really lose anything, just time. It also made me get rid of some games, etc
 that I didn’t really play.

There may have been a simple solution to my problem, but I was tired of looking, so just went to the extreme.

Thank you sir.

Start->Search for “Add Remove software”. Once you find Microsoft Flight Simulator there is a “Move” option
click that and choose the drive you want to move it to.

That seems almost too simple for a Microsoft product  But I will gladly try this out. Thank you!

This worked flawlessly. Thank you very much. The SSD is a major improvement.
