I think there’s still too many trees, even though it’s better. Looking locally, it seems to interpret every photogrammetric tree as a sizeable one, even if it’s a small shrub. VFRing around England I often can’t see things like roads and motorways. Is there away of scaling these down, or making half of them bushes rather than big trees ?
Yes, Accuseason by REX has a feature to do that as part of it seasonal change on a global scale. There is also a freeware tree mod here: Shorter Trees / Tree Height Modification VERSION 4.0 for MFS2020 (shorter, realistic trees) for Microsoft Flight Simulator | MSFS

Since around dec 23 or jan 24 Tree mods don’t work any more. I did not manage Shorter Tree to work as before.
The folders structure as changed, and manual .xml file tuning is no more possible, or I don’t know where. Before you could access C:\Users\YYY\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore [- no more \fs-base\vegetation folder and 10-asobo_species.xml file] , and modify manually this file.
→ does anyone knows a mod for trees sizes working now in feb 24?

I’m using the cheap mod from aerosphere(only thing on Xbox). It magically extends LOD about triple the norm with no frame hit in most areas. In NYC it can be too much with samescene as it can try to render everything from JFK to Manhattan… But in most cases the closest three mountains in view will all have trees, including behind you. And XBSX can handle it no issues, and any island will have every tree and building up. Not sure how it does it, their only other add is the ridiculous flashlights. But for now Hawaii 2 miles out isn’t bald anymore. Took off from Sedona yesterday and couldn’t see a spot that didn’t have trees or buildings in the valley, and that’s still within the headspace of the XB scenery at completely fluid frame rates(beta at 120hz). Used to chug terribly with just the scenery add-on.
I still need to investigate NYC as it’s the only place I’ve found problems. Could be something else. I keep buying stuff for NYC even though I hate the area.
