I am having a lot of trouble keeping my aircraft (all types) straight and level. Should I use rudder trim or alerion trim, or is there any other tricks I should know. Thanks in advance.
Elevator trim is what you’ll mostly be using for level flight. Rudder Trim helps against undesired Yaw coming from either the torque that some engines have or to counter weather effects for example. Aileron trim helps unwanted roll due to an imbalance to the left or right side of the plane.
It’s a tough one to give advice for as there are factors in play to which you have to adapt for like wind for example. Variations of throttle and prop speed will see different behaviours and you’ll need to trim accordingly to that kinda thing as well. Different Planes, Different Behaviours. One trim setup in one plane could be really bad in another, there’s no real “trick” per se. Plenty of experience and experimentation is needed and will come naturally.
Trim is not a flight control, you use your controls to keep the airplane straight and level. If you have to keep pressure on a control like constantly pulling the stick back or tapping in a pedal you apply trim to get rid of the force.
Thanks guys.
