I find this issue to happen mostly when entering and leaving Autopilot. When turning autopilot off and adjusting the trim, it will jump between values sending the plan either into a stall or a dive.
Sometimes I have noticed the value will jump randomly jump to 99%. Then when I barely move the trim wheel, it jumps in value sometimes by up to 50% or greater.

I’ve had similar experiences. Noticeable in career mode as well as in free flight. Some setting takes back the trim you made. Is it the support components or even control elements or completely other elements of the sim that cause this. It is not up to us to determine what the causes are. One thing is clear: without a properly trimmed aircraft, flying is very adventurous and a complete waste of time.
To clarify - I am on the Xbox X using the Turtle Beach Velocity One Flight Yoke with the throttle quadrant.
The trim issue has been ruining missions for me as well. I will come out of using autopilot at the end of a mission, try to adjust the trim, be thrust into a dive or stall and fail the mission from a crash.
Experiencing something similar on my VelocityOne Flightstick. I’ll probably download the firmware update as well if there as well, but changing my trim wheel to digital buttons instead of an analog axis (and re-assigning the bindings accordingly) seems to do the trip as well.
Also out of curiosity, are you in VR or flat? Because I seem to notice several of my instruments jumping around when I click them, but only in VR…
Downloading the firmware update on the Velocity One Control System doesn’t seem to have fixed the problem unfortunately. The value still seems to jump erratically at the smallest movements on my trim wheel.
Is there any issue with pitch Trim mechanism specifcally for the 172 on Xbox with just the standard controller in Career mode? I often simply can’t change the trim without it immediately returning to 0% (or could weather affect this?) so I can’t control the angle of the Cessna during long flights without constantly adjusting my pitch to maintain my altitude. E.g. move it 1 degrees but it quickly returns to 0 once I press B to exit. Is this just how it should be sometimes or perhaps a bug? I’m a casual player though so maybe missing something!
Similar to as described above, sometimes when adjusting it in one direction it immediately jumps (like 2.5 degrees) in the opposite direction immediately causing either a dive, stall or overspeed.
I am also having this problem, hotas T flight on Xbox, I have quit multiple career missions because i am unable to control my plane. It will jump by itself to like -30 then 15 then 25 then -15.
Im flying SAR so having my plane randomly jump trim levels while attempting to fly low or land on the side of a mountian is garbage.
SAR Flying - Viking Air ltd DHC-2
In the chañaral desert.
Not only that but coming in to land I am battling against a trim of -35 so then my plane crashes, and it resets traveling 170knts in final approach
