It does work for me but the AOA gauge is broken since World Update 3
Works for me as well, but it’s very slow. I need to hold the trim button down for maybe 3 times as long as on other planes.
Actually, I think this is a good thing with the Icon: it gives you finer control over trim, whereas with some of the other GA planes trim responds too aggressively.
My problem is that trimming is not possible. Mouse klicks on the buttons of the top of the control stick with no response.
Dont know why.
I think there is a fault with trimming generally now. Since SU5 I have struggled to sort out the trim. On several planes I have noticed the trim wheel slowly moving up and down on it’s own. I have checked my bindings to make sure there were no conflicts and as I said, it has only been an issue for me since SU5.
Have you tried using a joystick button or keyboard command for trimming?
Clicking on the virtual trim button is the worst possible method for trimming.
How do manage to hit the clickspot if the virtual stick is moving?
Which aircraft? Confirm the AP is off when this happens?
(With the AP off it’s only normal on the A320 and the 787.)
Cessna 152
Must be a double binding issue in this case.
Checked that but can’t see any double binding. It worked perfectly before SU5. I’ll check again later though. Thanks.
Sure. Normally I use the trim wheel at my throttle (thrustmaster). That works finde bevor Update. But it dont work either (problem is only at this plane) . I know that clicking is the worst deal. But when nothing moving by clicking, there must be a problem… I mean, the button goes up and down when clicking, and i can hear the sound too, but the trimming display (and the rudder) does not react.
I will try to use a keyboard command.
Just checked. Trimming works as usual on my install. It’s simply pretty slow.
Have you checked if the pitch trim indicator moves when you hold down the trim button for a few seconds?
The indicator does NOT move. The buttons on the stick do.
Just to make sure, to get a visible indication jump from one bar to the next, you need to keep continuously trimming for up to 5sec.
For me the trim up or down is simply not working. The binding is to my TWCS throttle only which no longer works for this purpose. I’ve also changed the binding and set it just to the keyboard only but it still will not work. Trim is not set to any conflicting alternative binding at any point. Several others have had this issue too I believe since SU5.
The TWCS throttle wheel is completely broken in SU5 and will not trim most aircraft beyond +/- 50% trim, and on some (Xcub and A5) it doesn’t work at all.
SU5 completely broke bindings for trim on axis on any controllers. You have to bind it to a button or hat switch now, and even then, the trimming is incredibly slow and unreliable.
MS keeps closing my ticket as “solved” but it’s a definite bug. I’m holding out hope it’s fixed in the hotfix, but knowing Asobo, it’ll probably take months. I can manage just barely using hat switch trimming, but it’s so incredibly slow and unresponsive on some planes that I basically can’t use them effectively at all (the A5 is one of the worst).
Fraid you’re out of luck until Asobo decides that completely broken control bindings is important enough to fix, and who knows when that might be.
I think they are aware of the issue. I’m not sure there will be a fix this time out but by the sounds of it there are going to be regular ongoing hotfixes . After all they need to get everything working in time to break it all again through SU6
