Trouble slowing my approach for short runways surrounded by trees

I can’t seem to find a good way to bleed my airspeed on a 172 with fs2024 when doing approaches for short runways surrounded by trees. It almost seems unrealistic to me even with no throttle , some flaps and low angle of descent. Maybe I am missing something. Many missions take you to those runways.

Obstructed short field landings are difficult!! I’d recommend practicing in free flight until you’re comfortable.
The major keys in a 172 are a stabilized final approach (which can be helped by flying a wider/longer pattern than normal, which allows you more time). I haven’t looked at the POI for a while, but it used to specify 61 kts IAS with full flaps. The (U.S.) standard for a PPL landing is to touch down within 200’ of the desired point. But with practice of the correct technique, most people can learn to meet the CPL standard of 100’.
Trying to learn the technique within the career mode will certainly raise the risks associated with serious deductions and damage.
IMO, training in free flight is your best bet to master the technique and feel comfortable and confident in career mode.

Forward slips work great for bleeding speed in a hurry.

Forward slips are great way to dump altitude fairly quickly (when done right). Keep in mind with the 172: Slips are/were strongly discouraged with full flaps. (I believe it used to say to use no more than 20 degrees of flaps). So decide which method you’re going to use early in the approach and be mentally prepared to go around if it’s not going well for either technique.
