I use a joystick - but since it doesn’t have any assigned functions in the MSFS24 setup, I have considerable difficulty finding the right essential functions to assign to the joystick, which already starts with a simple left/right fly or move.
In MSFS2020 it was much easier, but here? It’s a total mess of what feels like a hundred thousand functions. And if you have no idea what 1) which function has which effect and 2) don’t know what the basic functions you need for the simplest flying are called in the sim, then it’s just ■■■■, to put it mildly. (After all, I’m not a pilot either, just a hobby gamer who wants to fly in the simplest way, which was very easy in MSFS20).
After several hours of experimenting, I think I’ve now set up something that I can use to fly an airplane and what seems to work. (I am only interested in small airplanes to discover the world. I am not interested in those big Boeings and Co).
However, these settings have no effect on the more specialised aircraft such as helicopters and these Volocopters, especially these:
- Archer Midnight
- Jetson One
- Joby S4
- Volocopter
So I would like to ask if someone has figured out what settings/functions/keybindings (how they are named in the sim) I need to fly them, so that I now what I can assign to my joystick.
I found until yet nothing useful or something that works. For the JobyS4 I found a manual on the internet, but - sorry to say - in my opinion it´s absolutely not helpfull, because there are button mappings described I didn´t find anywhere in the settings of the MSFS24. And the only success was the propellers starting on the Joby, which sent me straight to nirvana on the ground.
I just need a simple, easy overview of the most basic functions that are needed to get these things in the air, like:
- accelerate / brake
- climb
- descend
- fly right/left (roll)
Thanks for helps
P.S. I use MSFS2024 Standard Edition for PC via Game Pass on Xbox (good luck I got a option to have a 1€ game pass for some weeks. Then because until now I am not happy with MSFS24)
