The live weather toggle is definitely there during Career missions, I just don’t know if it has any effect. I know turning it on if the mission was started without it doesn’t do anything. If you can, start a mission with live weather and try turning it off.

Clicked live weather off - it made no difference. I suspect I might need to find a storm somewhere first.

Yeah it doesn’t work either way. I started a mission with live weather, then went to the settings and turned it off and the weather stayed in the mission. So you can’t toggle it during an active mission.
Best leave it off globally then, still better than being thrown into the ground at every landing attempt.
This is what happens with every landing in Career mode, with Live Weather. Look what happens after I disengage the autopilot. The aircraft becomes uncontrollable near the ground. And this is with a 15 kts headwind/crosswind. This happens with all small/medium aircraft I’ve flown. And none of this is present in Free Flight with the same conditions.

That looked like a breeze compared to some of the landings I have encountered. I’ve had a 208B flipped upside down while the autopilot turning off. I have also had forward momentum cease from high velocity 90 KPH head winds. Worst time is usually between 1000 to 2000 feet AGL. Once I am under 500 feet AGL everything smooths out. Watching your plane turn a heavy left when yolk is cranked to the right and it doesn’t help or correct the turn, then 15 seconds later the plane is turning the opposite direction, and not enough yolk to compensate.
Description of the issue:
Wind and turbulence almost always high or extreme, even if mission shows calm weather.
Looks like the old bug is reintroduced in SU5.1

Before accepting passenger airline mission, in EFB check METAR weather for arrival airport.

If METAR shows calm weather (1-5kt wind), accept the mission for A321LR.

Take off, then skip to descent (Alt-N).

Approach and land. You will find that the wind and turbulence are much stronger than shown on the METAR.

In the screenshot, you can see the plane’s actual yaw angle as it flies parallel to the runway. I had to fully depress the left rudder pedal to compensate for the wind which is supposed to be 3kt.
You’re in a sideslip with all that rudder input so it’s hard to tell how much angular correction was actually needed to counter the crosswind. You still might require correction in the form of a crab angle, but that should be coordinated, and that will provide the data for the angular offset needed to maintain centerline. Light aircraft often use a sideslip upon touchdown, but in that case, you’d use a combination of bank angle to maintain the centerline and rudder to align the longitudinal axis of the aircraft with the runway. That method is not used as strongly in larger and swept-wing aircraft, but in your demonstration, it’s inconsequential - the sideslip is adding noise to the data.
I’m not saying the wind wasn’t incorrect, but the methodology to capture the issue isn’t providing enough useable data.
To provide evidence of a grossly incorrect wind, fly coordinated, maintain runway centerline (or a parallel track), and try to capture the true airspeed (indicated airspeed can get you in the ballpark, given other info), groundspeed, and even the wind indicators on the nav display. Using the angular offset and resultant groundspeed, folks who troubleshoot these kinds of things can work the problem backwards to perhaps see where the erroneous wind came from.
I have been through a lot of bugs in career mode (some of them documented on this forum here) but honestly this is the worst one for me because there is no workaround. The fact that this does not happen in free flight makes it even more frustrating for me.
Is it only imagination or has this improved significantly with SU5.1? Had some pretty windy landings that I was able to nail.
In SU 5.1 I’ve finished an A321LR career mission and plane handling was much more stable during landing. But need to test more to be certain.
