Two Render Scaling Settings?

I notice there is a setting for render scaling both in OpenXR and MSFS. Since it is already set in MSFS, is it necessary to also set it in OpenXR? I saw one YouTube video that recommended using two different render scaling values to boost image quality. Can anyone share their experience with this? I know this is one of the most critical settings for performance and quality, so I don’t want to mess it up. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
