Some of the UI such as options, pause menu and map filters are not showing. The tutorials names are broken and there are no trees and the grass is brocken.
First thing to try is clearing your rolling cache and trying with an empty community folder (although marketplace mods are also 3rd party and might need an update) … the next is to reinstall the sim core, if you have your packages in a non default location it should only be about 35GB but be sure to point to them when asked.
I can’t disable cache without the settings menu. I tried removing all my addons but it still had issues. I am reinstalling the sim now.
No need to disable it, just locate the cache in windows and simply delete the ROLLING.CCC file
Hi,
I have just purchased and installed Microsoft Flight Simulator and added the Australian World Update. First city I flew to was Perth and have come across some (texturing?) issues. I hav attached a screenshot to show how the buildings look “melted” or derelict. In graphics options I have tried various settings and the only one that “fixes” it is disabling photogrammetry.
Latest Radeon Drivers have been installed (RX6600XT)
Any ideas?
That’s just a limitation of the photogrammetry scenery. You can’t get that close to it without seeing how it degrades.
internet issues, drive issues (including virtual memory), or possibly you just found an area that just isn’t well captured by the aircraft that photographed it (this happens mostly on the PG edges but it can also happen if there are overfly restrictions or traffic diversions).
It looks the same on Bing Maps, which is a quick way to check if it’s server/Flight Simulator issue, or if it’s just the scenery itself.
Some photogrammetry areas just don’t hold up at close range.
I can’t say exactly but the trailer video released doesn’t seem to have this problem. Also it affects bridges pretty badly. I might try to install on another machine with an nVidia 3060 to see if I have the same issue.
The trailers are cherry picked shots from certain angles that look the best. They’ve been doing that since before the sim was released. Bridges have also been problematic since launch.
My advice would be to either stay above 500-1000 agl, or fly in areas with third party scenery enhancement. The Drzewiecki Design Chicago Landmarks pack for example is excellent, and vastly improves the Chicago photogrammetry.
that’s great! thanks for that tip.
