Does anyone have a link or can point me in the direction of a website that has quick access to IFR approach plates for airports in the UK?
Do you mean like this, NATS UK Aeronautical Info Service?
Edit: Google is your friend btw - this is the first hit for searching âaip ukâ, AIP standing for âAeronautical Information Publicationâ - should also work for many other locations.
Maybe i should have been more specific in my question. A webpage that i can pull up instantly like skyvector. That will also link the appopiate charts. The NATS page supplies a huge pdf which needs sorting, downloading etc. If you can find a flight planner using Google that links the charts, like they do for Europe and the US then by all means enlighten me!
But that NATS page gets you to the specific charts for each individual airport in the UK!?
If you click on the eAIPPackage link, an new page opens with the menu on the left. At the bottom of that menu in part 3 AD2 you can open a list of all aerodromes, and clicking on one of those the individual page opens, like here for EGPH Edinburgh. at the very bottom of that page you find individual PDFs for all kinds of approaches, departures, ground charts, âŠ
Isnât that what you are asking for?!
I think they want the direct link to the airport page
Not that the rest of the site shouldnât be read. Good information there if youâre serious about things. Or fly it IRL.
Nearly but not quite right! That now also links to the eAIP page. If you use Skyvector and hover over the airport (once highlighted) it will also bring up the IFR approach plates, among others. This doesnât work for airports in the UK. Itâs mainly for convenience when flight planning. Having to open up and dig around more files and folders than needed is a pain. Not entirely sure why the UK is so shy about broadcasting these plates, though i do notice you can âbuyâ them. Well I guess for the meantime i shall i have to create something from the eAIP pdf.
I use Chartfox which has SIDs, STARs and Approach plates, you can just search the ICAO and if they have it , then it should find it. Itâs like a free version of Navigraph.
Hope that helps.
(sigh). Why do they have to break something that worked fine the way it was.
Wow, thatâs an excellent resource. Thank you.
