Hi, I am going on to LonCity now at 11.55pm 2nd Jan 2022 for a few mins. Setting up clear weather, and daytime 12:00 hours. Try and meet up and follow cessna joedoh119?
HI, I know itās a UK bank Holiday tomorrow, 3rd Jan but I will try to fly out of Rochester, Kent UK EGTO tomorrow at say 11;30am and again at say 14:30hrs. Cessna āfollow-onā fying?
I will use real time GMT. (After dark, I always set time to 12:00 mid-daytime for good light conditions).

Weather and time donāt matter but you must be on the same server and have the multiplayer/traffic options turned on. I can list out all the settings if you need them.
Yes, please, the settings are needed. Thanks
Hi Bob, Iām in the same boat, altho a long time flisimmer. But been promised the instructions for meeting up/flying online by another user. I will try to find you again on this site and pass them on. My Steam name is joedoh11945, but shown on my planes as joedoh119. I have a Discord nbr #8380 but donāt yet know how to communicate that way. Learning curve or what!?
I trust your handle is as shown with capitals, then lower case?
OK got some time to jot this down for you and others struggling with this. Its easy once you know how.
All instructions start from the main welcome screen.
1 - Click on your gamer id in the top right corner and make sure your status is set to Online and you have the same server selected as the person(s) you are trying to fly with.
2 - Go to options at the top, then General options.
In the Data tab. Make sure Online functionality and Multiplayer are set to On.
(optional) In the Traffic tab. Make sure Show Traffic Nameplates is set to On.
3 - Go to the World Map and create a flight originating at the same airport as the person(s) you are aiming to fly with. At large airports it helps if you specify what ramp numbers to spawn into so everyone spawns around the same place.
4 - Still in the World Map hit Flight Conditions in the top right corner and ensure Multiplayer is set to All players
5 - Click Fly and you should see other players around you. Sometimes it can take a couple of minutes or so for the nameplates to appear and sometimes aircraft will vanish and then appear again a bit later. These visibility problems are known current sim issues.
If you donāt see anyone after making these settings try loading into a well known airport where there is bound to be active players. Heathrow for example.
I hope this helps. Let me know how you get on.
Hi everyone,
I am based out of Bristol and enjoy flying around the UK in various aircraft. I also enjoy a more exotic destination.
Username is: SamHock95, feel free to add
Also, I tried following the Discord link but it says itās no longer valid. Does anyone have a new link?
Happy flying
Hi Sling380, Gratefull for your reply. But this is what I do already. My problem is how to arrange a joint flight with someone. Many of the nameplates seem to be of random flyers in high jets or aerobatic activities - while my interest is in point to point flights with a.n.other/s in light GA planes. I try to follow a similar light a/c but so far they just go on their own way, so no joint flights.
I do not know any ābuddiesā with MS20, so how do I make a suitable friend to fly with online? This is my main difficulty.
Another point - itās useless to fly in real-time darkness, so then I always set daytime to midday, 12:hrs GMT. How do I know the other flyers see me in the same daytime slot? (Might be obvious to you but baffles me!)
I can and do fly most evenings out of Lon or se England airports.
Hi, Sam,
I have flown MS versions from 1995, FSX but new to MS20 . See my earlier efforts to find friends interested in light GA trips around Sthrn England, LonCity, Kent, Dorset etc etc. I fly most nights and see lots of nameplates but donāt know how to actually meet someone at an airport ramp to fly together. Any help?
hi, thanks for reply, ive just seen the message below your post advising how to get online so will try that then add you as a friend and maybe we can join online and at least set up a flight between us as a start ?
Thanks,GJLbob, I will look out for an invite.
added as friend within msfs
Im on the northern europe server
Ive just sent friend request via discord as well, hopefully you get at least one of them
The key is step 3. Arrange a time with someone and both spawn into the same airport either on the same ramp or adjacent ramps. It seems your issue is not technical but simply logistical. To make it easier itās better to establish voice contact via something like discord. Iāll repeat again the time and weather you set is not important as only you will see what you selected. You could be flying during the day in fine weather and someone else could be at night with many clouds. What is important are those settings I posted and being in the same place at the same real world time.
Hopefully Iāve added you Sam. At least Iāve done an add in MSFS.
@joedoh11945 do you want to add me as friend as I canāt see your username.
Are either of you free tonight for a flight say starting 19:30-20:00?
Awesome. Iām away for a few days.
Hopefully, Iāll be back in the sim at the weekend.
Hi, feel free to give me an add in MSFS. Hopefully I can get in the air at the weekend.
