I just ran the latest sim update - however the world update is not working for me - usually the other ones appeared in my content manager but this one isn’t!
However I managed to find it in the marketplace - however the “buy and download” button is greyed out - i think this might be because my steam overlay is not working (have never been able to bring it up and buy anything from the marketplace store!) - strangely the overlay is enabled in the steam options however when I hit shift+tab nothing happens…
Any help appreciated so I can get the world update and buy things direct from the store…
If you can’t buy anything from the marketplace, it’s a login issue. Try to logout and log back in and make sure you have an active connection to the servers.
Not necessarily, when using the steam version of MSFS2020 marketplace purchases are done by STEAM and you need the overlay to be enabled for the dialog box from Steam to pop up to complete the purchase.

1)was not aware you also had to enable in geforce experience - where do I find this option (which menu)- can find the game in there but not the option?
2)was aware of the steam overlay requirement in steam - had already enabled it in both the overall settings and properties - but shift+tab brings up nothing in game?
3)also in the link it mentions conflict of key bindings - but only using the default and MSFS? (so I dont think a conflict?)
Update: found the geforce overlay - its alt+z but its enabled (not sure it has any connection to the steam one).
Also strangely on my other games (with steam overlay enabled) shift+tab brings up the overlay with no problems - its just MSFS - also tried to change the binding (in case its a conflict) but steam wont let me edit the shift + tab default bindings?
No sure why you are trying to bring up the overlay. You just need to enable it in GEFORCE EXPERIENCE app from Nvidia (if you can bring up ALT Z then is is enabled). You stated you checked in the steam properties for the MSFS2020 game in your Steam library and it is enabled there so not sure why it is not working for you.
When you buy and download a popup from Steam should come up and allow you to purchase that market content through steam.
Try to change MSFS2020 in game control graphic setting to WINDOWED if you currently have it set to full screen and exit the game and back in and try the marketplace again. Also I would make sure the Steam icon is showing in your windows 10 system tray and you didn’t close it earlier (although you’d think it would be running in the background if MSFS2020 was running).

thanks for the replies - note the nvidia overlay seems to be seperate from the steam one but its enabled as is the steam - note reason I was getting the steam overlay to function was its apparently required to but buy something on the market place on the steam version of MSFS
the “buy” button in my steam store is currently greyed out - so can’t buy anything which includes “buying” the UK update that does not appear in my content manager - but to install I understand requires me to “buy” it in the marketplace…
So have now managed to get the steam overlay working by (by shutting all background program such as FRAPs and MSI) - but still the buy button is greyed…
Have read a few other people suggesting they had a “failed” purchase as a result of issues
with there overlay - which needed to be cleared to allow the buy button to function…

to be clear the steam overlay (shift + tab) and the nvidia one (alt+K) bring up 2 different overlays on my PC - but they are both enabled!!(but never heard anyone with a similar problem mention the nvidia overlay as being required to complete a steam purchase)
also tried the logging in and out of the steam overlay several times (still no buy button).
a few users with the same problem mentioned having incomplete purchases stuck on their market place accounts and when they were cleared the market place functioned again - but have not tried this yet…
where is properties??? i dont have msfs or properties.
I must have a different version of this so called game as everytime i look up help topics ( which is a lot… more time than i spend playing) I dont have the menus that others mention. ■■■■ this game i’ll wait till its finished (sorry for rant)
In your STEAM Library, right click on MSFS and select Properties. If you don’t have MSFS in your library, then it’s a good chance you haven’t purchased MSFS through STEAM yet.
