I am unable to enter my login details; the focus on the text box is systematically cancelled. The problem persists in both windowed and full-screen modes using ALT+ENTER.

If you have a Honeycomb yoke connected to PC, please disconnect it during login. You can reconnect it after logging in.
If you dont have a honeycomb yoke, then click on mouse and letter on keyboard at the same time and it will enter. Takes a bit of getting right but will work once you get it right.
Yes, it works. But how is this possible? What could be the technical reason for this behaviour…
Most likely one of the switches on the Honeycomb yoke is sending an input that interferes with the login window.
