• Win11 23H2, local user. I can login using Edge, but not Chrome. It asks me for my Microsoft credentials, but I can’t type anything into the dialog box. I can sign into other Microsoft Live sites using Chrome. It’s only flightsimulator. com + Chrome that’s a problem, and only on my gaming computer. I’ve worked on fixing it with the help of Experts-Exchange, but no luck. I believe it’s a forum token issue. At this point I use Edge to view the forum, and Chrome for everything else. I tried an uninstall/reinstall of Chrome - no joy.

Have you tried to delete your Chrome browsing data (all types) ?
No issue on my side with Chrome.

• I have exactly the same problem as the poster above where I am asked for my MS credentials but I can’t type into the box. My fix was to open a new browser session and go directly to MS Live and Sign In (Microsoft account | Sign In or Create Your Account Today – Microsoft), then open a new tab within that same browser session and go into the forums. That worked, and then after that the problem clears. I don’t know how I occasionally lose my credentials but this gets me back in.

Yes. But no change. I have two computers. The one using Win 11 23H2 is fine with chrome. My new gaming PC is Win 11 24H2 is where I can’t log in. Same symptoms as BegottenPoet228.

I’m having the same issue, except it’s on chrome on my iPhone. Is this still not resolved and is anyone else having an issue on mobile? Works fine on Safari and Edge on mobile, just keep getting the 5 dots when on Chrome. Have to go directly into a topic from google search to get it to work and even then, that doesn’t always work.

Now seeing this on my Mac, tried Safari and Edge. Solution posted above (log into your Microsoft account first) did not work for me unfortunately.

When I click on the forum sign in button, it immediately shows the following error page : “Sorry, there was an error while trying to authorise your account with xbox_live. Please try again”

Hopefully a Mac has the Xbox app as do Windows devices.
Try to log out of the Xbox app, restart the app and log in again.
You could also go a step more after you log out, delete the app, restart device and reinstall the app.

You may also want to check if something in your browser’s cache is blocking this.

I’ve tried everything to resolve this same issue on my system, including following advice from Experts-Exchange. The conclusion is that it’s most likely a forum token problem.

I work around it by using Microsoft Edge for the forum, and Chrome for everything else.
The problem in Chrome is that I’m not allowed to enter my Microsoft account credentials when I try to login to the forum on that system. No problem using Chrome anywhere else, and no problem with Edge on the gaming system.

I don’t know of any way to delete/renew the token except to reformat C: and start over.
Maybe there’s a registry key, but I haven’t found any mention of it.

I’ve had weird forum issues repeatedly on my iPad that only an incognito window resolves, like dev. update pages that always link to old data, even if I delete the cache.

I’ve been reading this thread without being able to take part for the last 3/4 days, as I also had the “Sorry, there was an error while trying to authorise your account with xbox_live. Please try again”

I tried one or two things like removing the forum token entries - but didn’t work so I put them back, then I tried changing how XBox starts up with the pc by setting the 4 entries in the Service list to automatic rather than manual - that also didn’t work..
Also my Xbox app on the pc was always working fine & I could start up the flight-sim itself, so it didn’t seem like it was from the XBox end anyway..

Then out of the blue today I click login at the top of the page - & I’m back on & every little setting I fiddled about with didn’t work (& was put back just how it was by myself anyway) :upside_down_face:

Also - I tried different browsers: Edge, Google, Safari & that didn’t make any difference

This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Users > your name > AppData > Local > Packages > Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d… > AC > TokenBroker > 2 folders inside called Accounts & Cache, both have token script inside

But DON’T DELETE those 2 folders, instead just cut & paste them somewhere else (such as your Documents folder) then you can put them back when you find it hasn’t made any difference :+1:

I’ll give it a try, but I don’t understand why the forum lets me login using Edge, but not Chrome.
What you described sounds like a token for validation when launching the sim.

But honestly, I’m like Sergeant Schultz when it comes to this type of thing.

When using Edge and Chrome, are you logged in using an Outlook and Google user ?
Maybe the difference could come from the way your are logged in those browsers.

Logged into Edge with a Hotmail account.
I login to Chrome with my Google account.
Maybe I’ll try logging in to Chrome as a Guest.
