Unable to see other players walking in mulitplayer

A frustrating issue I am having and not sure if it is just me:

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

  • Xbox

I can not see my friend when playing multiplayer with him when he is walking around outside his plane, he is simply a nametag hovering in the air.
I restarted, tried multiple times, every time he, on Xbox Series X could see me on Xbox Series S, but not the other way around, I doubt the different devices is the problem though.

  1. Go to Auckland Airport in a blimp or another plane (my plane wasn’t showing correctly for him)
  2. Try to walk around and see if you can view other people whose planes you could see, when they are also walking.

So, a nametag, otherwise invisible player showing when walking around.

I can’t even see name tags the or even other aircraft. How did you activate the name tags?

Is there setting for multi player? If so, you may be able to show or hide other players?

There is a setting for name tags, I know as I turned it on I believe in the ‘Online’ tab but not sure. There might actually be a setting for that, though my friend is also on default…?

You are able to enable multiplayer, however that is for all aspects, including planes, and I have that turned on.

You can click nameplates on or off under the “Flight Interface” option in General.

Regardless, I am unable to see the other players walking. Does anyone reckon this is a bug or just something I am having a problem with?

For me, only when you make a group and add friends you can see them. Regular multiplayer without group you dont.

Check your Air Traffic settings under Graphics- Global Rendering - set it to any value other than off.

They said it’s intended because people could troll other people or something. Well the way they put it was impact other people’s experiences or sonething

They just did an update, hopefully lots of these issues are fixed

kind of same, it was fine till i joined my friend ingame with xbox group and after 1h of playing everything just stopped working. online players show sometimes no nametags 90% of the time and i cant see him or if i can he cant see me and no nametags and if nametags then cant see there plane or other.

launcher: Microsoft Store
Version: latest update
settings: all default never changed.

got my issue fixed.
open file explorer

%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache

paste this at the top
then remove all the files in there but the folders and there files.

start game and enjoy online. This also made my game run better aswell.

There is a setting under “General > Online” for “Multiplayer” (obviously need that on) but also for “Show multiplayer aircraft in close proximity”. This last one is turned off by default, I guess so you don’t crash into someone who’s being a jerk. Does that setting fix anything for you?

That is actually a good idea. Will try that later on.

I’m on Xbox, so can’t try that, but looks like it should hopefully work for everyone. Anyone on this forum a PC user that could try this out? (Only if you have the same problem of course).

Turn off Live Weather. Known issue.

Can anyone else try to do this to see if they can also get it to work this way? Just realised that my live weather was already off, so I think it must be something else for me.
