Dear community, I am unable to start the engines when flight is started in a parking position. Controller commands are ignored and AI piloting is unable to start engines as well. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Many thanks!
Did you follow a checklist on how to turn on the engines? Also when spawning cold and dark I don’t think the aircraft has any fuel in it, so you’d need to fuel up using the EFB.
Hi GurraJG! Many thanks. Tried the procedure and completed the page ENGINE START PROCEDURE 11/11 but no engine start. Fuel at 32%. Bit puzzled…
Is your APU running and have you turned on APU bleed?
What do you mean by this?
Have you tried running through the checklists using a mouse to complete each task?
Also, FYI, I’ve spawned at a parking position and have been able to start the engines with whatever default fuel value the aircraft spawns with, so you shouldn’t need to be concerned that the aircraft needs to be fueled to get the engines started.
One other thought is to ensure you don’t have an axis set for Mixture. Different peripherals handle their axis behavior differently, but in my case (Thrustmaster), I can definitely start the engines if I have my mixture axis set to cut-off, but if I pause the sim, with it still in cut-off, it will shutdown the engines. It’s possible a peripheral mixture axis is preventing fuel from flowing to the engines, so I’d check that, if applicable.
Yes. APU is running…
Thank you NixonRegrave! I am using the standard controller as my peripheral. I have completed the checklist both automatically and manually- no difference. When done on an A320 engines will start executing the corresponding checklist. Kind regards.
Thanks again GurraJG! I overlooked the APU Bleed switch! Working beautifully now!!!
