I’ve been considering doing a fresh Windows install but I’m not entirely convinced it’ll fix it. It’d be a pain in the butt like it always is because I’d have to go through my OS drive local files and backup any of that stuff plus certain programs etc I have on here are annoying to get set up. Really don’t want to do that if I don’t have to.
The only real issue I’ve seen with my system is that when I try to open the command prompt, you see a quick flicker of the window opening and then closing. No idea why it would do that, it’s been doing it awhile, and isn’t really much of a problem since I hardly ever need to use it. And I can still use PowerShell.
Also, as someone just said above, fresh Windows install did not work for them.
Current state of things: Uninstalled the game completely again. Started over. Left it running today while I was at work. Surprise surprise, it only downloaded a few files before getting stuck on “Decompressing…” an airport package. Deleted it, rebooted, started again, and now it just got stuck decompressing on a different airport package within minutes of starting.
Really stupid. Got my 3080 Ti yesterday. Was planning to see how it handled this. Guess not.
It’s probably irrelevant but maybe someone else looking will see some commonality with my setup:
Windows 10 Version 21H1 Build 19043.1110
Ryzen 9 3900x (No overclock)
Asus ROG Strix X570-E Motherboard
G.Skill Rip Jaw DDR4 3600 32GB (2x 16) RAM
EVGA 2080Ti before and now 3080Ti
Tried installing on two NVMe drives, both Intel 660p, 1x 1TB and 1x 2TB
Verizon FIOS gigabit in NJ via wired connection
Intel(R) I211 Gigabit integrated network adapter
