I hope we don’t have to wait for Monday to get this fixed.
You mean the next update??
No, I mean having to wait for them to come back to work on Monday and fix the servers.
I noticed that far away scenery or if seen from up high, the Bing data loads and displays but at low LOD / resolution. It’s the close LODs that displays the generic scenery.
It also brakes my orbx mesh . I can’t load NZ region it must have dependence on the online sat data. Have to Uninstall mesh to just get NZ to load and that’s still without the bing data working
Yeah, you can see that on the world map, when zoomed out sometimes it’s ok, but when you zoom in it loses the satellite data.
Yes indeed…
All in all, this should be on Azure / MS side. Asobo basically might not be able to do much on their side.
Regardless, a rep should get on and acknowledge the issue.
Here is what’s funny. I have two PCs, on one the Bing data is working without problem and on the other it is not even after a new install. Same network, very bizarre.
Same account?
No, two different XBOX accounts, I will try it out with logging in the same accounts.
Same problem, no BING data all of a sudden, and also it seems that the Anti-Aliasing problem increased with the BING maps off.
Today I realize the that the main reason I come back to this sim even though it needs a lot of work is because of the Bing Maps and photogrammetry features. Without them, it’s like FSX on steroids.
I’ve also noticed that if I keep Bing Maps turned on, if I try to load an addon airport the sim will CTD before spawning. If I then turn Bing Maps off then the addon scenery loads fine.
I switched the XBOX account around on my PCs and it only works on one PC. Windows is the same version with the udated. Only different hardware. Very strange.
MSFS_Support on twitter did acknowledge there was a team looking into the issue, so they are aware of it
Does the problem follow the PC or the account?
The problem follows the PC. I used my account where it doesn’t work on the PC where it works and all was fine. Used the account from the working PC on the not working PC and it still didn’t work. So it is independent from the Xbox accounts I assume.
That’s really interesting. I noticed photogrammetry was gone today after a game crash (I was in the process of undervolting my GPU). The next time I went into the game, photogrammetry was gone. Coincidence? Dunno.
a few of us have done full reinstalls of the game and it hasn’t brought back photogrammetry.
However there was an xbox gaming services update on 27th august, so I wonder if this has broken things for some people?
It looks as if you can’t uninstall the update, I guess could use system recovery to go back to an older restore point but I can’t be bothered with that hassle to debug this issue
