Unexpected download without update

Just fired up fs2020 on my Xbox. Content manager showing everything either partially installed or not installed. I hope this is the fix following SU9. Now completing the installation,51gb and updates and hoping for the best. If this truly is a fix, Microsoft and Asobo have got there sooner than I expected. Fingers crossed.

I don’t think the hotfix will be 51gb, nor released on a Sunday, but I’ve been wrong before.

No hotfix has yet been released. Last update was the main build for Sim Update 9.

Whatever it is I completed the downloads and updates that flagged up in content manager and guess what. Just flown an ifr flight in A320n, live traffic on, live weather on, atc on. Arrived and landed at Gatwick using auto pilot and not a blank avionics screen nor ctd throughout.
I don’t think that this only came out today because I haven’t been on my Xbox for 3days but obviously for me, something has changed hot fix or no hot fix. I’ll take it thank you very much.

Just to add, the partially installed items were the basic sim, the deluxe and premium editions. The items I had to reinstall completely were all the world updates, all my livery add-ons and Manchester Airport add on. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this.

Not happening my end. I think this evenings efforts have to be the worst I have had. 4 attempts and everyone crashed when on the map. Its seems its doing the crash even when I try to slide the time bar back to a more of a day time setting instead of evening.

The sim is growing a mind of its own and repairing itself when it senses a hint of trouble. Nice. I wish it would start doing this for more people.

I don’t understand what happened or why it happened, I didn’t uninstall anything before this but on starting the sim everything had been fully or partially uninstalled. The startup splash screen now only stays on for around 10 seconds and the whole loading time has been improved. Yes, the world map still has issues with freezing for a few seconds but not crashing. I am not at all technically savvy and I know this could be a short lived fluke but at the moment it works for me. Good luck, hope you get it fixed soon.

Does MS have the ability to roll out an update to just one account?

Just wondering if they are carefully testing changes and monitoring feedback in the background?

I have no idea and I am under no illusions. It could all go wrong again at any time. I just tried to inform people about this strange experience. Who knows what will happen next. I just hope that everyone, pc users and console users alike, will have a fully functioning SIM very soon

Hi, Just thought I would see if I can get up in a flight. Got passed the two start up windows got into the world map and still seeing that update notification so I thought lets see whats happening (You guessed it) CTD

I think I may have just been lucky. I am using Xbox s and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it goes bad again. Just enjoying it while I can.
Hopefully you will be up and running soon. This was my experience so I shared it.
Good luck friend.

Hotfixes tend to be much smaller. A change to the main executable, then a few support files at most.

I’ve been flying in “offline” mode since the SU9 update. I’m doing fine ! I made the mistake of leaving the SIM in online mode the night before the update. I’ve had a few issues like everybody else is reporting when I tried “online” mode after, but for some reason the only issue I have now is the mysterious turbulence when flying “offline”. I don’t dare turn “online” again.

Agreed, but I had all the world updates, all my add-ons to re install from scratch, they had gone. Also had to complete partial installations of the SIM itself, hence 51.4 GB
Don’t know why it happened but it did.

By any change did you delete/remove the “fs-base-cgl” folder? The size seems to remind me of that.

If not simply sort your “OneStore” folder by date to show what was changed.

If that’s working for you that’s great. I don’t know whether I dare touch anything as long as it’s flying.

I think I already said that I am on Xbox platform, there are no folders. Just to clarify, I did not delete or uninstall anything, it was all done by the system.

Exactly ! If its not broke, don’t break it or make it broken. Don’t touch lol.
