This is how it works for me.

Thanks

Yes, thanks looks like it works doing this. After also review the video and make in On Selection for Multiplayer, Live weater. I have before this in OFF due flying only in IVAO lan

Goes to Custom preset, select fly.

And goes to Weather menu

After select Unreal Preset, nothing makes, but later press “live”

ok
I’m glad I can help

@Plasticbus7338 - The mod should work either way; you can select it prior to starting your flight, on the World Map screen,or while in-flight.

Also, when you’re flying, expand your Weather Settings window (or just use the scroll bar on the right) - you should see the current METAR info under your Pressure MSL slider. See the last screenshot that you posted above.

Now the temperature always show 15C or 59F.
Unfortunately.

If you have MSFS version 1.10.7.0 (the latest), please re-download and reinstall version 1.6 of the mod. There is now a separate folder just for 1.10.7.0 in the ZIP file.

Note: Do not forget to add your API key to the JS file!

Was just about to report a bug with current patch not updating the weather at set minutes etc hehe.
I’ll give it a try thankyou

EDIT: i set it to 2 minutes polling frequency as a test, and it seems to still ignore it.
it does catch the data near airports tho.

Also what are the best settings for the smoothest changes?
currently i have:
metar_polling_frequency_minutes: 2,
weather_transition_span_seconds: 50,
weather_transition_step_seconds: 0.02

but it still looks like it’s hitching at changes instead of doing it smoothly

@Planet96728 - When making changes to the JS file, fully restart the sim, otherwise they will be ignored. Also, keep an eye on the log underneath the METAR frame - it tells you when a new report is received. If the new report is the same as the last one, nothing will happen and you won’t see it in the log.

Your settings seem too agressive. Remember: the weather changes should be as subtle as they can get, so they do not break the immersion. Ideally, you should not be noticing them at all when they are occuring. (Unfortunately, it is not always possible with the current model.) Also, your transition step duration of 0.02 seconds is way too low, as MSFS is incapable of adjusting the weather that quickly, the clouds specifically.

I’d recommend to stick with the defaults (3/160/0.5), but, maybe, reduce the step duration to 0.1 sec, if you have a fast PC. You may want to experiment, but make sure you understand how it all ties together.

Ah that makes sense mate.
I have quite a strong setup so i want my transitions to look as smooth as it can be.
Love your work!

What are your plans for 1.7 and later versions?

it still feels bad having transition steps at 0.1

I want smoother transitions not one that hitches when changing cloud shapes etc.
how can i set the value lower than 0.1?

You can try lowering it, but I don’t think it will help. You’re really up against one of the MSFS’ deficiencies here. Another option is increase your transition span, so more steps are used, but not that fast.

i don’t mind if it takes a bit longer for the transition to complete.
I just want the transition to look smooth without it hitching, it’s like the clouds are stuttering.

for example i also own REX, when i set it to 1ms transition it looks quite faster with the steps it does.
The issue with them is that they refuse to let us disable aerosol density which causes insane fps issues.

I’ll try setting the span seconds higher and step seconds lower.
play around with it a bit to try and find the sweet spot.

Unreal Weather is only showing one cloud layer when the metar shows 3 layers. Why is that?

Is this the one for 1.10.8.0 also?

That should not be the case. Maybe, they are just close to each other? Do you have the actual METAR?

Yes, the metar said something like FEW018 SCT025 SCT060 and it just showed the SCT025 layer.

FYI, there is no way to add or delete cloud layers in MSFS.

I know, why was Unreal Weather just showing one layer instead of 3 is what I’d like to know.

is there a way to make the aerosol density load instantly while keeping the rest of the values in transition?
I know some JS but not as good as you, so i don’t want to tinker with it.

Yes, there is with some extra coding. But I think there is a better way, too. I will try to implement that in the next version.
