Superb piece of programming!!! Works beautifully with my MS Store version. Looking forward to any future additions
Yeah Iāve just downloaded it and right now isnāt working at all. Should we wait for a new release, or could be just a ātemp connection to METAR data problemā?
Yea, same here. Iāve restarted the gameā¦shut the computer down. No METAR
However, I was doing this with a saved .pln.
When I just pick a departure airport I get METAR

I selecting just a departure airport 10 x and I get the METAR everytime.
When I try to do a saved .pln I donāt get the METAR data.
I also tried with just selecting a departure and arrival airport (no saved plan) and it worked 3 out 10 tries.
BTW REX isnāt working for me either.
I only select and airport for departure and i dont see neither the metar as you had posted in you photo and no weather in the flight, only clear skies
Hmmmā¦just tried KDEN and KDFW as departure only and both times I received METAR. What airport did you use?
LEVC and LESO
Just tried LEVC and received METAR

I do to things before I go back and hit the fly button.
-
I go into fly conditions and click in the Unreal Weather box.
In the lower right corner of the screen you can see an activity circle. I donāt know what this is doing. -
I click the blue LIVE button for weather time.
Now, this still doesnāt help me on the .pln issue.
Try that out and see if it works for you.
okey thanks right now i cant test it but at night i will do thanks for your steps i will follow them
I think Saved flights save the weather from the time of the flight. The Mod pulls live weather so I think the simulator is overwriting the weather from live weather at the time which is not enabled. I would suggest try loading the saved flight with live weather on then changing the weather preset to Unreal.
Keep in mind this is only 1.3 and the addon is in its infancy. @duesen will work to improve it as he can.
Awesomeā¦I will give that a try.
I gotcha on the infancyā¦itās an awesome addonā¦I wish I would have found it before purchasing REX.
Yeah and REX will not refund period. I bought their Skyforce for P3D a while back and it did not work, I would take off from Chicago and weather would not change and be the same all the way to LAX. REX support told me it was my fault then said they were releasing an update to fix it later. I asked for a refund since the software did not work as advertised and they were very rude about it and said no. I finally ended up going through my bank and disputing the charge due to it not working.
@KahngroTBO Thanks for the suggestion! It worked on a saved flight!!
Glad to help
Well, if you select KDEN as departure, you will get the temperature bug, same as any high elevation airport there is a temperature issue with a big difference at the moment, @duesen knows about it and is investigating further, by the way if any one has any suggestions as to how to fix this issue with temperature, you are welcome to chime in.
In reality the error is always present, but in low elevation airports is not noticeable, but the higher you go in terms of airport elevation the greater the error in temperature.
Also in high elevation US airports the altimeter has an error as wellā¦
Ohā¦I didnāt look at that. I will. Thanks for pointing it out.
I was just happy to see the METAR information showing.
Okey, now it works, I remove the folder and put it again, done this, and it works.
Another thing that i want to say is: the transition of a metar near overcast to one with clear sky its a little bit ugly to see, because in only 30 nm where i tested (LESO to LEPP) i can see how the cloud layer moves up instead of ābecome less dens?ā will be correct phrase? so IMO if its possible to make it for example intead of over cast to clear sky make a transition with āSKC (sky clear), FEW (trace), SCT (scattered), BKN (broken) and OVC (overcast)ā in that way you will make a more good transitions between 2 different cloud coverage.
Another point its that in my test, the metar change at 13nm miles of the nearest airport so you can imagine how fast has to be the transition if you go for example in a A320 (i tested in C172 and IMO the transition was so fast and so evident) I know that i can change the speed but in the other hand if I make that change or i will land bejore the full transition or the transition will be so agresive.
I spect that all its understood, english its not my mother lenguage so sorry
PS: the idea its great so keep pushing because we have a good product in our hands
FYI, āLiveā time plays no role in this mod; it always pulls the current weather.
Thanks @duesen!! I didnāt know if it did or didnāt. I just know that it started to work after I did that routineā¦so I just keep doing it.
Thank you for a great add on!!
Try this go to website with metars and refresh your api key.Copy your key again and after edit your js file again and test if works.
Just a note for people having a little trouble ⦠sometimes (Internet-dependent) it take a little while to grab the latest METAR. Iāve been doing lots of test hops between NZAA (Auckland) and NZWN (Wellington) and somewhere along the route it switches from one airport to the other. Thereās sometimes a short delay while this happens and things are updated, but Iāve not had it fail on me yet.
I sometimes have LittleNavMap running simultaneously - and have that set to pull METARS from 3 different sources. No discrepancies with Unreal Weather
All in all, Iām a happy camper!
REQUEST: How easy would it be to be able to manually paste in some historic METAR info (maybe even from a different location) and have UW process it?
