I’ve been noticing some problems with setting the correct pressure. This Metar KSFZ 051236Z AUTO 01007KT 8SM -RA BKN009 BKN016 OVC024 11/11 A3014 RMK AO2 RAB09 P0000
along with this one: KBDL 051205Z 36006KT 10SM BKN017 BKN120 10/07 A3014 RMK AO2 T01000067 did not correctly register the pressure, the game still indicated 29.92 when pressing B. the pressure MSL in the weather preset was set at 1013.25
The next METAR it grabbed however did register correctly KOWD 051153Z 34003KT 10SM OVC011 13/11 A3013 RMK AO2 SLP203 70002 T01330106 10144 20128 51010
Not exactly at the moment @CaptClarence125 thought it is a good suggestion and I know @duesen reads this thread so I am sure he will see it. The mod is a replacement for the live weather and is more detailed than it is. It is basically Active Sky (not there yet but getting there) for free.
If I am not mistaken though LittleNavMap and PlanG can be set to pull weather and METARs from the Simulator thus you might be able to use that to get your destination METAR.
@CaptClarence125 If I am not mistaken and if I am AWRX METARs line up with the NOAA METARs the only difference is AWRX has already parsed the METAR from the xml to raw data the add on can pull from this the reason for the API Token.
I always start the flights with clear skies and once on the runway I switch to the mod, or in real time, however since yesterday I have not been able to make UW work,
By the way, I’m a Microsoft Store user, and I’ve never had a problem with it working.
Try a complete PC restart. That sometimes fixes the issue. Also loading saved flights seems to be an issue. Also if you are loading to a different location and going back to the main menu there is a bug in weather not loading so make sure you are restarting the sim for each flight.
In 1.4 the add on will alert you if something is wrong in the settings, not sure how that will work but @duesen said it would be going in 1.4.
I restarted the pc several times, in addition to having clear clear skies, gusts of wind come everywhere, the arrow goes crazy and the plane does not stop jumping,
I have changed it to real time, and it stops doing all that.
The past two days, I have seen the correct pressure when updating a METAR, then a switch to 1013.25 (29.92 in),. then a switch to the correct pressure after one or more METAR updates. Checking the METAR that is active, it is not reporting 1013.25. There seems to be something during the parsing of the METAR where the pressure is not found.
Great suggestions, LNM would be perfect but it’s currently limited to NOAA. From the known issues:
Simulator weather cannot be shown for MSFS since SimConnect weather functions are deprecated and do not deliver data. Needs update or documentation in MSFS SDK. Use NOAA weather which gives you the most up-to-date weather reports.
@CaptClarence125 great advice and I agree. I always enjoy your posts as they are usually well thought out and informative. I have always used NOAA even when using Active Sky and 99% of the time it was right on.
@AdvancedGrain30 I would suggest turning off the pressure till a fix can be put in if this is a mod issue. It could be a METAR parsing issue with AWRX as well.
Yeah, sadly the information is so different from what I see in the sim, I can’t set an approach perf reliably right now. Almost buying REX just to be able to have some sort of control.
ATIS is simply a mess. Many airports don’t have it, others can only be tuned if you’re practically on the apron, and still some can be tuned but not received even on the ground. Trying to stay positive but this one is a big bummer for me.
@CaptClarence125 If you try the Unreal mod with some ATC there is an option to ignore the weather for smoother approaches, I know it isn’t idea however it might me a work around for now.
I would stay away from REX, my experiences have been nothing but negative and they have never put out a good weather engine as they use injections rather than transitions like Active Sky did.
I am an old simmer and remember when you could only get real world weather from VATSIM in FS95 and FS98
