Unrealistic Engine Behavior DA62

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
When in flight, switching the Engine Master switch of either engine to off, does result in a wind milling prop which is not according to the real example. Resulting in a huge amount of drag and running the life engine on max power for a long time barely holding speed and altitude.

In the real aircraft the following happens:

  • Engine Master → Off
  • Prop automatically goes to the FEATHERED position
  • Prop stops quite quickly reducing the drag massively

To start the engine inflight:

  • Engine Master → On
  • Prop goed into unfeathered position
  • Press Starter Button to start engine
  • (not recommended by Austro Engine is a windmilling start. Therefore you have to lower the pitch for a light dive, to create enough airflow to be able to turn over the engine to have it start on its own. Approx 130-140 knots IAS)

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
Diamond DA-62
