Thank you for using the Bug section, using templates provided will greatly help the team reproducing the issue and ease the process of fixing it.
Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?
Yes
Have you disabled/removed all your mods and addons?
Yes except for ones essential to the aircraft I am flying.
Brief description of the issue:
FPS is unstable when airborne, constantly fluctuating down 2-3 fps and sometimes dropping up to 10-15 fps for a few seconds.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:
Start a flight at any airport, depart as normal. Issue begins shortly after takeoff.
Many issues may be due to an outdated graphics card. Please state your Graphics Card Driver Manufacturer (NVIDIA, Intel, AMD) and Version (Learn how to find your current graphics card driver version):
NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB, driver 528.49
PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:
Ryzen 5 2600X GTX1060 6GB 16GB RAM 3000mhz, MSFS on SSD with scenery on HDD
Those sort of frame fluctuations in your video are perfectly normal. If you lock your frames to something lower (like 30) then it will appear more stable

It wasn’t captured in the video, but as stated in the post, my fps usually dip down to ~25 at approximately 30 second - 1 minute intervals. I can record it happening when I’m next at my computer
Even still a drop of 10 frames is still pretty normal. You appear to be playing uncapped so your system is at its limit. The sim has dynamic systems like weather and Traffic. You are also moving/flying so the scenery is constantly changing. If you are using 3rd party stuff that will also add to this.
All of these things can effect your system load from second to second.
Lowering settings/capping framerates can alleviate this but won’t really eliminate it unless youre system has a lot more headroom.
If, for example your system (uncapped) could reach 80fps but you capped it at 30 or 40, you would all but eliminate frame drops and stutter because you arent on the limit and there is a big chunk of headroom there.
Even when my FPS was capped, i still had those 10-15 fps frame drops. At my current frame rate of 40fps in the air, dropping 10-15 fps means a 20% - 37.5% frame drop, and all threads of my CPU spike high when they occur. Doesn’t seem normal
