This finally showed up in my library.
I’ve disabled the WU Las Vegas, enabled the FT scenery & airport, and relaunched the sim.
I also have the missing buildings:
It’s fun watching the animated fountain go off at the missing Bellagio!

Yeah I have to wonder WTF happened to this version of the scenery in the intake process. It’s clearly different from the standalone version - the Sphere is working in daylight, for instance. But the standalone version isn’t missing any buildings.
I hope somone is reporting this kind of thing to FlyTampa. I’m not joining yet another forum to report nonsense like this.
To be honest you’re not missing out. They hardly reply even on their official forum.
Why KLAS is my first and last Fly Tampa buy…
Until this one in 2024, I’ve never had any issues with my other FlyTampa sceneries. KBOS, EHAM and LGAV have been great for me, and in fact all three work fine in 2024. This one is the problem child, probably due to the sheer complexity of the Strip.
Missing buildings here too. Still no news from the dev about this?
Originally George commented on their forums that a Las Vegas update would be launched in the summer. Seems like that timeline has come and gone. Comments like this on their forums don’t leave me with a ton of confidence unfortunately. Maybe I’m reading too deep into it, but I just don’t have faith with the lack of positivity…
I’ll add - FlyTampa has always been a favorite of mine. They were my first scenery purchase a LONG time ago and they’ve always put out solid products. However, the transition to 2024 hasn’t been great for them it seems.
I’ve spent over a year working on free airport updates to Athens, Boston and Sydney. Some of the work was based on your feedback. All were done for a massive financial loss. They’re ain’t no money in updates, so say thanks and give it a good review if you wish.
We don’t have any staff to look after every forum question and couldn’t afford it.
Please remember Fs2024 was a surprise. Now we have two versions of FS we are expected to update for free while dropping our current new projects. Meanwhile Microsoft gets to charge you another 100bux while leaving us with a bunch of unpaid new work we didn’t expect. Fs2024 should have been a bunch incremental updates for 2020 or offset to a 2025 release.
Wow! Very disappointing read, that. I’ve got quite a few FlyTampa sceneries, and it sounds like they’re just being left to rot.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned to despise, it’s vendors abandoning their products. I paid good money for those. And now half the lot doesn’t even work in 2024 - EHAM for instance isn’t even that old!
I will definitely think twice before buying from them again.
Kind of a shame. They make great stuff! I suspect many would have gladly paid a modest 2024 update fee for their airports. They should not have to work for free but they should support their products a bit better. Even releasing one update would demonstrate they are still in it.
EHAM for instance isn’t even that old!
Just a heads up - EHAM does actually work for 2024. I did a flight there a few days ago. You’ll want to download this mod and it works pretty well. https://flightsim.to/file/94694/fly-tampa-amsterdam-several-fixes - Hope that helps!
It is a shame to see such a solid dev fall off, especially when others seem to be thriving. Hopefully they can pull it together and return to their roots.
Hmmm, not very confidence-inspiring. I can’t imagine making the missing buildings appear is too much work? It’s not like we’re clamoring for updated textures or anything, just to make the buildings appear!
Guess I’ll just avoid Las Vegas for a while. Like most tourists are doing in real life😅
saying everything from 2020 would be compatible out of the box
For the record, they never said this. While I agree they said a lot of what we have would be compatible, they never said everything would be “out of the box”.
Some of your points are valid. They did indeed say everything would be compatible and that’s clearly not true. I do think they will make good on that in due time, I think it’s more down to bugs than unwillingness or maliciousness.
However, as a third party there are more than one way to deal with that. You can say “well that sucks” but just get stuck in anyway, and support your loyal customer base and update stuff. You can even charge a little bit. And let’s not forget a lot of vendors do that. It’s good PR, it’s good customer support, and as said, you don’t have to do it for free. Devs gotta eat too, I understand.
Or you can go the path of FlyTampa, and go all combative and dig your heels in, and tell your customers “Well, sucks for you! There’s nothing in it for me though. Thanks for your money btw”.
And also, sorry, but what is this comment about: “ … so say thanks and give it a good review if you wish.“
He just comes off as a jerk, I’m sorry.
Am I wrong but it looks like they’re working on an updated KLAS version- albeit they last posted about it in August. By far my favorite developer.
My Personal Comment & Observation
I’ve never heard anyone at Microsoft or Asobo say that all 2020 content would work in 2024. In the June 2024 Expo it was said that there would be exceptions - see:
I will just point out that this package worked fine in FS2024 out of the box until sometime between SU2 and SU4. I owned the package on Marketplace and when it seemingly never became available to enable, I bought it a second time on Orbx. It worked great for me until around the time of the most recent US World Update.
They certainly insinuated that “most” would be “compatible.” That’s the general term everyone uses when it’s going to work. If it does not work “out of the box” you can’t call it compatible. If I have a game that works with Windows 95 and it does not work with 98 properly, it is not compatible with Windows 98.
Yea their response was exceptionally poor.
Sure, but it’s more like almost nothing worked properly, rather than a few exceptions. Even many of their own things didn’t work right and some still don’t. It was certainly misleading though I doubt it was done deliberately.
Hey all, not sure about anyone else but FT’s KLAS/Las Vegas just popped up in my library yesterday. For now I’ve only got KLAS installed on my XBSX, and it so far appears to be working. As for the city, I’m not sure of how updated it is compared with Asobo’s but I’ll try and give it a shot and will revertback.
Be sure to load in at night and see if the buildings on the north end of the Strip look right - most of us were seeing missing buildings but light textures from windows and signs were present, just floating in air.
The standalone version is no longer working for me. It looks the same as the streamed version. I am in the SU4 beta and it was working in a previous beta.
