I found that you have to start TrackIR “anew” before a flight. Until now I’ve just always left TrackIR running, I never shut it down. Now I have to close it, restart it, and start the sim. When I’ve done that it works just fine.
Cover one of your sensors with your hand, it’ll turn off.
I always switch TrackIR off when I’m done simming and autostart it with MSFS Addon Linker, which I use to start the sim. Maybe that’s why I have minimal issues?
Yes, when the camera loses track of the reflectors on my hat TrackIR switches off. But that barely happens. And when it does after all, I hit my keyboard combination ALT+T bound to “Toggle Head Tracking” to switch TrackIR back on immediately. It’s somewhat annoying, and I do hope for fix, but it works for me.
Yes, that’s exactly the main complaint.
It’s not a show stopper, but for those of us who are looking over at charts, graphs, checklists, down at kneeboards, etc… It kicks out allot during a flight.
It was brought up by another forum member during the beta test that this was broken. I get that the beta was to test bugs they already fixed but given how big TrackIR is for the sim, you think this would have gotten addressed before launch.
Even before the SU7, as soon as my TrackIR shutdown (not turn off option in Camera Setting in game) during flying, it is impossible to reconnect with the current running flight and sim, I have to close sim and restart again. Very annoying especially if you are in midway of a long haul hours flights.
Yeah, that’s definitely an issue and the current solution can only be a temporary workaround. Let’s hope they fix it before the next big Sim Update (which without the shadow of a doubt will break other things).
C’mon hotfix!
we can dream!
Really? I’ve used it since day 1 and never had a single problem until today. Weird.
Likewise, have never ran into an issue until today.
Clearly, the OP and many others in this thread use it. There are a whole host of reasons people may not choose to use VR. If this trolling is all you have to contribute to the thread, be off.
Colorbanding issues + trackir ruined.
Bruh… We need a hotfix
I can’t do without trackir, i bought it recently and i have been using it constantly.
Its what made my sim experience so much more fun.
I’d be happy to see this problem for myself, but I’m stuck in an download loop. I can’t even update.
Great way to make VR users look elitist; thanks for nothing.
I use VR as well as TrackIr for 2D flying. The fact that VR is currently useless since this sim downgrade (because there’s no way to interact with the menu bar in VR) I need to fly in 2D using TrackIR… aaaaand Asobo have broken that too, despite being told about both bugs by beta testers before release.
Atrocious quality control, they should have delayed the Sim update.
What about those of you that use Smooth Track versus an IR tracker? Same issue?
Yes, I believe so as others have reported same issue with other variations. Seems to be with any head track.
Fee…fi…fo… fum
Me… no… like… stereoscopic 3D depth nor convergence in flight sim!!!

Rooooarrr
I love VR. I’ve had a Vive (now with Index controllers) for about 4 years. The MSFS experience, however, gives me a headache and makes me nauseous. Only VR experience I’ve ever had that does that. And I’ve played stuff like the EndSpace and EverSpace series, Star Wars Squadrons, VTOL VR, and even first person shooters.
I can’t deal with the low frame rate MSFS experience. It makes me sick. That’s why I use TrackIR.
I love and own all the visual tech 3D Vision, Track IR and VR
Yea VR just isn’t for everyone physically…luckily I got over my initial VR nausea with Skyrim VR🤢
Never had any issues since and I usually fall asleep inside of the headset with autopilot engaged on long 3-5 hour flights. I hope they fix the TrackIR issues for you guys soon!
I’ve never tried the Tobii stuff.
I’ve got good, strong VR legs. But all my VR stuff runs at over 60 fps. Most at 90 or above most of the time. No issues with that. Played through Half-Life:Alyx, Boneworks, and random other FPS games. EndSpace has actually made 2 of my friends puke. No issues here at all for me.
The 30-40 fps MSFS makes me nauseous. I can’t handle that.
Reno is a definite no purchase in the meantime. Why on earth would I spend anymore money when they’ve completely ruined flying for me. The bad thing is knowing that if they even do put out a patch before making us wait a update or two, they’ll only half fix it like things they’ve broke in the past. (can you tell I’m mad as hell over this?)
