Can we have a update only twice a year so we can enjoy the sim for awhile. EVERYTIME there is any kind of update, small or large, you break the sim. Let the third parties get their products working well and you can test all you want on your build while we can enjoy the WORKING sim.
Hello,
Right now, there is only one sim update publicly announced for 2023. There are several world updates, but if I’m not mistaken, those are now server-side adjustments to terrain and Marketplace-only downloads.
Nooo, no… I prefer that everything continue as it is today.
One SU every two months and one WU every two months.
The SU needs solve the boats and dock under water and I want see the the tripical wateres as the first promos… an of course i want to see the passengers cabin in the Citation Longitud.
About the WU, exists many areas to cover; Caribean, Southamerica, Cenrtral america , the french polinesia, etc, etc…
Yep, I understand the reasoning behind the post, but there are sooo many major world and sim aspects that still need significant work that I think it’s too early. Maybe on its 5th birthday…
When some of this is more mature, maybe…
- Better multithreading support for fast CPUs
- ATC
- Seasons
- Aircraft AI behavior
- Boat AI on water that’s not at sea level
- Photogrammetry looking like a nuke has gone off
I mean, MSFS is amazing and considering four years ago we thought we were doomed to an eternal house of cards build on the FSX engine, I absolutely love what we have. But it’s sooo good that there are just so many opportunities to fix the low-hanging fruit to take it from amazing to spectacular. ![]()
We don’t need so many Sim Updates.
I do believe we should have regular patches/hotfixes to fix the bugs that have been reported from over 2 years ago.
There is an equal need between stability and new features. MSFS needs to be viable for MS to continue it’s development, and part of that means opening it to new platforms, adding new features and growing it’s userbase.
I fully understand you and still deal with weird bugs from ages ago or even newly released ones. Yet we cannot stop the sim from potential growth or it will stay hidden in a small niche and return in the same states as last gens.
There has been so much work to get us betas to test, provide feedback on those features and get add-on devs onboard to make sure things go smoothly. I don’t think anyone here (the community, Asobo, MS) wants people to have a bad experience on purpose. It’s just the usual balance in time, money and quality.
Comparing from a year ago to now, I experienced very few CTDs, and have been impressed by the Sim’s stability. There is still some improvements but we are far from the times of SU5 or other major issues we had in the past.
Impossible without frequent updates, fixes and new features ![]()
