I only get download loops with the 1.8.3.0 patch. Tried it yesterday and today- situation has not changed!
What the hack is going on here? Cleared W10 2004 cache and put all drivers up to date. It is frustrating becaue I started to love the sim.
Same here.. nothing from the developers… I submitted a ticket.
Me too. Not even netlimiter worked for me.
There’s a solution that I found and works but only on ethernet cable details below
Think I found a solution from another thread, change your network settings to 10mbps full duplex, it will be slow but gets past the loop, it’s working for me so far downloaded 1gb in past 15 minutes, fingers crossed
After update is complete switch the setting back to auto negotiate
Control panel
Network & sharing centre
Change adapter settings
Right click on LAN icon and select properties
Click on configure
Advanced tab
Scroll down property list to Speed & duplex
Select 10mbps full duplex and Ok
Might need to restart PC… I did
After download is finished, go back into above and set back to Auto Negotiation and restart PC
Some one said you can use 100 mbps full duplex alos but original instruction is to use 10 mbps. Download isn’t particluarly quick but it solved teh loop for me

Gave it a second try after today afternoon. Sorry. Doesn’t work me even with rebooting and double-checking the network adapter settings.

Gutting! Thought I had a solution, sorry to hear that, I know how gutting it is I tried for 2 1/2 days to install update until I came across the tip and it fortunately it worked.

This did the trick! Thanks! It definitely has something to do with download speed or something. A less pretty workaround is to constantly pause and resume the download, but that’s boring

I used the Netlimiter with 500KB/s and it finally worked. But it has taken almost 6h30. Now I do really hope that all the devastating posts across the forum are not factor for my sim. Fingers crossed 
it worked for me now! i did the same. Limiting the ethernet to 10mb full duplex and waited and waited…
