The update step in this game is just such a massive download and stopping point I can’t help but think this could be implemented better.
For instance, I know several games with rather large installs, take World of Warcraft for example, where it will download the core files that are required to get the game going and load just the starting area. That way people can get into the game and access some of the features while the game continues to download the rest.
This 90gb download is just ugh. Even with a solid connection you’re going to be downloading for a couple of hours most likely while people with less than stellar connections this turns into an overnight event and maybe the game will be ready tomorrow. If the download could somehow be broken up into more manageable bites, it may be easier for people to get into the game and get through this.
Side note, the troubleshooting steps for this game is to basically reset the game data and then reinstall the game which just blows. I have a random crash and so you want me to download 90gb for a second time? There has to be a better way to do this.
Love the game to death and I’ve played FS since the 80’s but ■■■■, when it’s not working and i’m having to reload it this is just becoming Waiting Simulator 2020.
