Hi, I was updating and the power went out. After resuming the update I get stuck in “checking Updates” for hours. Any solution?

I had the same issue today when my PC decided to get stuck altogether (including the audio).
No fix I found on the internet, let alone the official helpdesk, worked for me - but I found the solution myself: go in the install directory and delete any files and the (one, two or three) folders which were changed last.
