I increased my Ram from 2 sticks of 16gb ram to 4 16gb sticks of ram and was pleasantly surprised at the increase in performance i gained between 3 and 7 fps depending on the area, smoothness in the sim was better and also noticed the render times drop slightly.
Since the upgrade I was also able to increase the lod sliders from 100 to 200 and had the same performance or better than before.
I will add though since the latest sim update I do have to drop the sliders back to 100 in dense area’s.
I do also use Ramcache III to set up a cache so it makes use of the extra ram available I now see 50gb ram usage in flight. But the actual increase in ram made the difference.
When I bought the extra ram I was prepared for it not to make a difference but it was a pleasant surprise.
I believe the quality of the motherboard probably makes a difference to.
I don’t think theses things always work for everyone see so many different post where something works well for some and not for others to many variables between pcs.
