My (now oldish) i5 7600k has been over clocked now (from 3.8 to 4.6) for over 2 years without any problems in MSFS 2020 since the sim launched. My GPU (2070s) has also been OCd as well without issue.
Very good build IMO. Are you playing in 4K or 1440p?
My build
AMD 5800X3D
RTX 4080 16GB
32GB DDR4
WD NVME SN850X 1 TB
Samsung EVO NVME 970 2 TB
HP G2 VR
Windows 11
Thank you for the very kind words. You yourself have a great system there especially with the fantastic 5800x3d and rtx 4080. Very nice
I’m currently playing at 1440p, 3 monitors (35 inch ultra, two 27inch), win 10, 48 gb ram (at a relatively slow speed now of 3200), SSDs, 2070s, corsair aio and actually (unbelievedly) getting fantastic fps (40 plus to over 60 fps with the PMDG 737 600). For me personally Asobo have done a fantastic job of optimising the sim. I never (ever) got this type of performance on my system with XP 11 (vulkan).
It’s basically a 2017 PC system though and I am in the initial process of building a separate new PC system ( just bought the PC case) hopefully to be completed in the next 6 months or so. I’m thinking of going the AMD route now just for the longevity of their motherboard with an AM5 MB, AMD 7, 7000 series cpu (maybe 7800x3d when it comes out in April), atx 3 1200w PSU and 32 gb ddr 5 ram. I don’t usually buy newly launched products to be honest but that’s the broad plan anyway at the moment. It will depend a bit on the availability of supplies, early reliabilty issues and the actual prices (as opposed to scalpers retail prices) of these new/newish products
I play in 4K but I have a secondary monitor 1080p for onair manger and youtube . I also have corsair 280 AIO but I don’t use it because noise, I am using a Noctua D15 black edition vary happy with it.
i just added a new 5800x3d to my Rtx 4080 and faster 3600 Ram 32gb, 570s motherboard
Wow! Play mainly in VR, HpG2, 45 to 50 fps on high/ultra clouds. In 2D 4K on high/ultra clouds 90 to 100fps at bigger Airports with Airliners.
Good combo.
