Upgrading To Premium Deluxe With Game Pass

Hello Flight Simmers,
I have Xbox Game Pass and want to upgrade to premium deluxe. I know I need to pay but if I buy the $84.99 upgrade, would I need to continue the Game Pass subscription? Thanks.

there was a guy a couple of days ago that had the game pass, bought the premium deluxe, then canceled the game pass and he lost everything. Apparently, he had the P. Deluxe edition but he still needed the base game, AKA the game pass, so he canceled GP and lost everything. So it would be safer to buy the game on steam/MS store. or buy the base game on the Xbox store if that is possible and then cancel the game pass.

I started with the gamepass on the release day 08/18. I had it for a week then just bought the premium deluxe edition. I didn’t cancel anything. The sim just downloaded an extra 10 gb and that was that. So no you don’t need to continue the gamepass subscription.

Same problem here. Start with game pass for one month, upgrade to premium deluxe, pay 84,99€…cancel the game pass and now i can’t play MSFS. If i now buy the game pass again, i can play. But wtf game pass cost 10€/month and the full game 119€.
I have no problem to pay the difference between 84,99 and 119€, but there is no option for that. And i don’t pay 119€ again, it’s ridiculous.

You dont own the base game, you can upgrade and play as long as you have Gamepass active. If you dont plan on keeping Gamepass you must buy the base game or the deluxe, premium version.

If you bought the upgrade by mistake your best option is to contact Microsoft support and ask if you can get a refund to buy the full version you want.

The Game Pass upgrade requires Game Pass. If you want digital rights, you have to buy the Premium Deluxe outright, or as an upgrade to the non-game pass version. The PD version costs $119 for the full digital rights version.

It doesn’t make sense to me. Can they buy the basic version? and, since they bought the upgrade already own/play the premium?
