I’ve just done the download and it’s deleted the entire game.
Same here…total joke !
I mean, being aware is fine - not much you can do about it though. Can’t opt-out of an update.
It’s wiping everyone’s sim.
Fantastic.
A BUG report needs to be created for this mess again! Just have to hope it doesn’t get moved to a discussion hub so it gets ignored!
Just had the same update
Can we get a moderator to at least assist us?!!
Can mods turn this into bug report or something?
So what we suppose to do now ? Do a full reinstall ?
Can we choose to delay this update, did it force download or you chose to?
Yeah - go back into your library and reselect your community folder. Had the same thing happen. Would be great to hear from MS about what this was…
What 8.7 gig on msfs2024 lol
Manually fixing the UserCfg file fixed it for me
So how you do that ?
Forced, as all updates are really.
The last line, “installedpackagespath”…change it to your MS2024 install path that you use
open the sim, go to your content manager – you can do it there.
Thank you @udubp13 for that save! whew.
Oh no, so we can’t even wait for the problem to be solved before downloading. Maybe just don’t fly yet in MSFS 2024 - I’ll switch to X-plane for a while!
I just started MSFS 2024 without issue & without any update. No updates shown either in the Xbox app or MS-Store either.
I only have the default PDL install - no 3rd-party aircraft or items in my Community folder.
I suspect (speculation) this it is related to a 3rd-party addon, but may be way off-base here.
I don’t even see a version number for this update
I would be surprised if a third party addon caused a nearly-9GB update from the Xbox app. More likely (and I’m hopeful) that whatever we’ve experienced has already been shut down.
