I have succeeded in changing my username to a reasonable one but I see that in the forums the old one is used. Is there a way to change it also there?
Click your Avatar in the top right, select preferences. Then change your name.
If you changed your Xbox Gamer Tag, you would need to log out and back into the forums to apply the change here.
