Using a Game Mouse with FS 2020

I would like to use the Logitech MX Master 2S to take advantage of some of extra buttons. I am using it for everything else but the SIM sees only a MS Compatible mouse not the Logitech. Anybody doing this.

Have you tried to use a small program called X-Mouse?

Does your mouse come with software for setting profiles?
I use a roccat nyth myself and use their software to program the buttons the sim doesn’t recognise.

I think the problem is that MS thinks that my mouse is an HD-compliant mouse with MS drivers from 2006 (Device Manager). It works fine for normal operations.

I have tried using the Logitech software package Options_8.20.239 which supposedly allows applications to use the mouse with applications but I would have to find the name of the MS Sim (xxx.exe) and its location. Can’t seem to do that.

I’m stumped.

I tried another mouse, it is the only active mouse recognized in the Windows 10 Device Manager, Razer Death Adder v2, it is properly recognized in Windows 10 2004 and my sim was updated 2 days ago. Same problem, the sim thinks I have a standard MS mouse. Don’t have one.

I cannot use the software that comes with the mouse to associate it with the sim because, even after contacting MS Windows Support, I cannot get access to the Flight Simulator.exe file to tell the mouse software to associate it with the sim instead of the erroneous ms mouse it shows under options.

I did open a new topic mentioning the Razer but have no indication that the post actually took place so please forgive - I am not attempting to double post.

Thanks,
Henry
