I am on the gulf cost and due to hurricane sally, we do not have internet available yet. got power back yesterday…oh happy day !
I am sending this with an internet connection through a phone tether.
I cannot run the sim because it asks me to insert the disc or quit. This is a digital version on a PC. There is no disc.
Does this mean that the sim will not run in any manner without an internet connection ?

Correct. No internet, no validation and no flying. Can you tether for the validation and the n disconnect to not blow your data plan.

I will be back in about 1/2 hour and will test that theory. I do not have the lastest update and DEFINITELY DO NOT want the sim to start attempting to download the update until I get our normal mediacom internet back… Which may be weeks…ha
Bummer. The update is mandatory. So you may be out of luck. Be safe. Take care. Hope you get back to normal soon.

Good point about the update. I’ll have to wait until mediacom gets our area repaired.
That will probably be weeks. It was 2 months after hurricane Ivan before we had internet service restored. Happy I have satellite TV otherwise the wife would kill me…ha

Even if you tether for the validation, it will prompt you for the update
