Using RL Airport gates/ramps

I was playing around and some airports have them but a lot do not. I do not know if they are working to correct this or not but Atlanta airport and I think Miami too have gates names something like T222 in which reality its actually Gate D 33 or something like that. I have seen this on many airports.

Why not just use the same gate numbers? I like to sim RL flights from gate to gate.

Taxiways are not always correctly called out as well, making RL charts useless for Flight Sim. :slightly_frowning_face:

I have seen that too… But I think gates are an important thing to have correct. It may be a security thing is why the nav’s/coms/taxiways are not inline but I am not a pilot so I do not know. but the gates should be correct I think if I rem correctly FSX had the proper gates at least at most airports.

I fly almost exclusively GA aircraft. Haven’t ever been able to get into flying the big cigar tubes. From the sound of it, that may be a good thing right now!

Hopefully they resolve the issues in the near future. I agree that the RL Gates and the Gate callouts in Flight Sim should match. Makes it more fun!

There is an ongoing discussion about this. Taxiway names are procedurally generated by the AI for non handcrafted airports.

I was talking about the gate numbers

The gate numbers are also procedurally generated for non handcrafted airports. This is also discussed in the thread.

Taxiway names, gate numbers and signs are all generated by the AI. The only airports you will see actual gate numbers wer ones they had to hand touch.
