When I originally purchased the Kodiak in msfs 2020, one of the instructions was to un-install Working Title’s G1000 nxi , so that it wouldn’t clash with SWS’s already installed avionics version that came with the aircraft.
Now in msfs 2024, I see that the G1000 nxi does not act as expected and I do not find a way to un-install Working Title’s version there.

What’s the status on this question?
SWS have done a fairly massive rework of the Kodiak 100.
It seems fairly clear that the solution is going to be holding out for the update to become available, which will address a myriad of issues and add improvements to how the Kodiak integrates with MSFS 2024.
From their Discord:
Next comes the Kodiak 100, which will receive a pretty big overhaul:
- The flight model has been adjusted across the board.
- The plane now exhibiting positive pitch stability.
- Drag at the lower end has been reworked, and you can now fly a final approach at 500ft-lbs of torque.
- Submodelled interior and exterior, allowing modders to make their own variations of the aircraft. I.e. ISR or Medevac variants.
- Installation and download size has been reduced because of submodels used for interior and exterior.
- The exterior model optimization has been improved. Texture memory usage has been reduced significantly for the lower LOD models.
- The interior has been upgraded with new seats for the pilots and passengers.
- Interior LOD1 reduced to 60% of the original size, allowing it to be rendered at higher quality than before when viewed from the outside cameras.
- Optimization pass to all interior models, reducing model and material footprint.
- Fixed shadow banding on the cabin and exterior
- Fixed jumpy digit on ESI500 XML gauge until new instrument arrives
- Pilots and cargo/passengers can be hidden by clicking the fire extinguishers
- G1000 makes use of all WT G1000 features available to the Kodiak
The update to the Kodiak will also not make it for Christmas, as doing and optimizing the lower detail LOD models requires way more hours than originally planned. These models then need to be tested across the wheeled and amphibian variants, as if one model doesn’t work right, the entire cabin will be invisible. Again, we believe we should reward your -extreme- patience with a well-working product. An additional concern is repaints. We have made sure that the exterior and interior textures carry over unchanged, but new folder structures and variable names apply. Additionally, repainters that did custom seat textures will have to rework them on the new models.
Finally, there is an avionics update coming for it after. Our internal team has reworked the ESI500 and Air-conditioning screen, but these will need more testing before reaching you. We have also commissioned the services of an external contractor who will develop the correct layout of the Kodiak’s Engine Indicating System, including the flap and elevator trim indications, plus some extra features that are currently missing from the plane. We anticipate to have that out in Q1/2025. That will conclude the aircraft’s development for FS2020 and allow us to focus on porting it to FS2024.
Thanks much for your reply ![]()
The Kodiak is my go to
in 2020, I can’t imagine it being better.
Patiently waiting… ![]()
It works ok for me in 2024. Have you switched the arc on in the MFD/Menu/Map Settings? It’s called Select ALT Arc. It’s off by default.
OMG…doing that now, Thanks!

Thanks for the info! I had the same issue in MSFS 2024. Hopefully, an update will make it easier to uninstall the Working Title G1000 NXi and avoid clashes.
@rozellespi
I know this should be posted in the User Support Hub, but…
As it appears this user managed to install Kodiak in msfs2024, I am interested to know how? I have tried numerous options including the use of MSFS Addon Linker to no avail. Any advice would be most welcome as the Kodiak is my all time favorite bush plane.
Colin
I originally purchased the Kodiak in MSFS 2020. All the aircraft that I purchased like that were automatically ported over by MSFS 2024 in the first few days each time I entered the new SIM. I would find them in the MSFS 2024 Market Place area / Library (of msfs 2020 aircraft). If they did it right all your MSFS 2020 addons show in this area but have to be enabled if you wish to use it in MSFS 2024. (in some cases I’ve read some people still can’t see all their planes) ATM, I have un-installed MSFS 2024 or I could show you. It got too frustrating, but that’s another story. Yes when I was in there, Kodiak flew as expected after I tweak the control characteristics very well. So, look in the MSFS 2024 MarketPlace / 2020 Library and all your addons should be there. If not you fall into the other percentage of frustrated customers.
If I could help anymore, let me know.
Mike
Thanks for the swift response Mike. That explains it… I purchased mine direct from Simworks Studios. I guess I’ll just have to wait a while for MS to update further. As for the 2024 sim, I only installed it yesterday and to be honest I am quite impressed. It does chew up my 100mb internet connection but what the hey!
If you contact them directly, maybe they have the answer on their website
Just purchased the SWS Kodiak and love it so far. I installed in in 2024. Initially it told me 2020 was not installed but then it gave me the option to paste the path to my 2024 community folder, which I did, and it installed perfectly.
The only issues I have having is that I have a G1000 hardware device and I have been able to map all buttons on that to the default DA-62 but for some reason I can’t find all the buttons listed in 2024 under the Kodiak. As an example, in the DA-62 I can do a search for “PFD” and it brings up a bunch of controls available to be mapped. When I do this same search in the Kodiak, it returns nothing. Also, I can’t find any of the 6 buttons on the right G1000 panel (Direct To, FPL, CLR, MENU, PROC, ENT), to map them in the Kodiak. Both aircraft have the G1000 so I am at a loss. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for the help.
Not sure why you are doing different setups for different aircraft. The G1000 controls are the same for every aircraft unless you are somehow using the wrong ones.
