Off topic…Are we likely to see your bare-wheel 172 working again in the post SU5 era?
switching to DM
And then they further delay all the stacked up releases till the next weekly Thursday release date on the 19th ?
One golden rule that every pilot learns one way or another: never, ever activate a switch without looking at it and verifying what it is you are about to flip. For me it was pulling the mixture in a Cherokee upon reaching cruise when I thought I was pulling the throttle. That sudden cough of the engine taught me a lesson I’ve never forgotten.
Nope. It’s not a thing in the real Islander as the fuel cocks (the red and green selectors) have a starboard, port, and off setting for each engine
Hi NM
Is the BN2 update still coming? It’s gone awfully quiet of late.
Yes of course… its in the Hands of the Gods
Ha….fair enough
If there was ever a case that demonstrated why it’s not a good idea to buy aircraft from the Marketplace it is this thread.
The single benefit, automated updates, is far outweighed by the numerous drawbacks.
Hopefully it’ll be out tomorrow, as that’s when today’s Dev Update suggests the Marketplace is next being updated. Looking forward to hearing the new sounds!
Hi CpMoustache!
I do see some switches in both the photo and video I linked in my post above marked “Fuel” (center, below the fuel gauges) that look like the Fuel Valve switches in the sim Islander.
Not a big deal. Just curious about their current positioning.
Is there a way to buy the Islander as a gift for a friend on the Blackbox Simulations website, and if so, how do we go about it?
drop me a message, we can help you
Similar question: When I purchased the Islander I accidentally had it in the cart twice. So I ended up paying and getting 2 license keys. I would like to give one of it to a friend. Is this possible?
yes. again see above
The extra switches you’re seeing in some pictures are to accomodate extra fuel tanks in the outboard sections of the wings. You select main or tip tanks but it’s not an on/off switch so much
Understood, and very interesting! Thank you!
I wonder why they were placed where they are in the sim?
Thank you. Your profile is hidden, how should I contact you?
@NightMercury358 Really sorry to say this… i’ve been doing a fairly extensive livery for the interior of the islander, having just finished today taking some pictures i re-noticed something with the external textures… haven’t really checked all of them… just a quick check of the EX1 norm file… but all the rivets are indented rather than protruding…
Not something that basically anyone would actually be able to pick out and notice, but it might be the reason why at some lights and angles there’s something ‘off’ about the fuselage.
But noted … thanks ![]()
