I really love the Islander! Well done BlackBox. The paintkit is also excellent, especially the layered PSD textures. I have had some awkward moments getting angled lines wrapped around the fuselage, but that’s just practice. My Misty Moorings friends appreciated this one:

Also - I have jumped out of one of these a fair few times from several thousand feet - from a UK army parachute club “dropper”.

It is an awesome plane, well done. Only issue for me is that the cables on either side swing in the wrong direction at every turn. This can probably be fixed easily with a sign change in the code.

But I think -same as the keyring in the C140 - the cable swings only in the wrong direction when taxiing on the ground, right?

the fact is simple
The Cable is acting on the Turn Co-ordination Variable to give an “effect” Of movement. It carries no real world physics. Sometimes the forces can switch from gravitational to centrifugal giving the illusion of moving the “wrong way”

And you rely on the sim variables, right?

Speaking of VR, does the VR-Cockpit Zoom feature work properly? Because of my disability, that’s a go/no-go checkbox for me, but even if you’re not disabled, it should be there, frankly I consider any plane that doesn’t have it to NOT be VR-compatible, even though you can get in the plane in VR and it doesn’t crash.

I also wish MS would make it a requirement to be listed in the Market, but given they allowed the Frankenstein monster that is the Captain Sim 777, it seems they don’t much care about quality when they allow stuff in the Market, so I’m not likely to get my wish on this one.

Will you be putting this on Flightsim.to ?

Hi Bill, sorry but not yet. It is a specific “club paint” for “Return to Misty Moorings” users. I want to keep it there for a while so that the team can give it a good thrashing to iron out any painting kinks.

This should, however, go to flightsim.to eventually.

It’s pretty easy to download from the Misty Moorings website. Return to Misty Moorings - FS2020 Scenery also check out their sceneries as they have some really nice stuff for Alaskan bush flying.

Thank you for responding to the livery issue
 appreciated!

Just wonder
Why do emails to your support address go unanswered
it is cumbersome to find the answer here, unless one knows where you hang out

What are your power settings that you’re getting that airspeed? At 23 squared I get 135 knots.

Yeah, great idea! Let’s attract the mods here so they tell Graham not to provide support in the thread and threaten to lock this. So that way, everyone wins, right? I mean, VALID point you have, but still
I am thankful he is always extremely responsive here.

I just my rpm to around 2400 then just drop to like 17" manifold
Sits the throttle around 1/3 forward
Not really following anything in particular, just keeps her with a low fuel burn

One of the questions on the FAA ATP knowledge exam:

Under normal operating conditions, which combination of MAP and RPM produce the most severe wear, fatigue, and damage to high performance reciprocating engines?

High RPM and Low MAP
Low RPM and High MAP
High RPM and High MAP

Answer:
High RPM and Low MP

What you’re doing is driving the engine with the prop and not the other way around. Low fuel burn, sure, but you’re going to need a new engine soon.
