Enjoying this noisy old bird. Two questions: Is there a cargo variant? How do I get the co-pilot to sit in the right seat instead of the pax cabin? Thanks.

That would be a nice update! :+1:

I’ll know soon. I’m about 70nm out from one. I can see that the switch that would allow you to listen to its ident, and associate volume control are INOP.

Yes, it works. I was around 45nm SW from KI in New Zealand.

Couple of issues with nav audio switches, though the switches themselves do flip.

DME audio doesn’t work.
NAV1 audio also doesn’t work, and I checked the volume knob on the 530. Interestingly, the toggle ident on the same button is a momentary press, despite tooltip reporting toggle. If you press, and hold the 530 button down the lower NAV1 switch flips on, then off when you let go. I like that!
NAV2 audio does work.

In my test NAV1/2 were both tuned to the same VOR, WN near Wellington, NZ.

Asobo just need to make the audio louder as it is barely audible, even when emulating headsets.

Nav radio IDENT in JF Arrow is also very weak.

How do updates of the plane work?

Are they automatic, or do we need to download them manually after being notified somehow?

Email, then manual download.

Nice video review from AvAngel - knowlegeable and objective but also relaxed and enthusiastic. Worth a look in balance with some of the other first takes.

Really enjoying this aircraft!

I think I found a bug with the fuel flow gauge. I’m seeing the gauge read about 22 gallons per hour per engine. But I calculated my fuel flow just now to be about 27 gph total for both engines combined based on 6 minutes of flying and checking my fuel quantity in the weight and balance menu. I also see via SimConnect (with LittleNavMap) that the FF reported there is 26 gph.

This is flying at about 8200 feet northwest of EIWF, mixture levers at 24%, props at approximately 2500 rpm, and power at approximately 20" Hg.

you will need to download manually once an Update email is recieved

Understood, thank you!

I really love the plane. I just wish it was louder inside the plane. it’s too quiet. The noise is perfect outside.

just purchased this aircraft, it’s really enjoyable overall, and fps are great! I had to make an emergency landing because the engines stoped, even if there was like 5% fuel left.

Finally, I got the islander. I was hesitating a bit because of the issues identified by many users here. But in the end, I must say I really really like it. Yes, it is not perfect, many users have already identified the problems, but I am sure the issues will be solved in no time. There is nothing out there for MSFS like this plane. Flying in and out of St. Marys or St. Barths is awesome. Hopefully, Blackbox simulations will get a sound engineer and solve the remaining issues and I see myself flying this plane for years to come.

There is a percentage of Unusable flue in the tanks …
you were lucky to get to 5%

I guess you guys have already looked at the extensive tutorial from audiokinetic?

Wwise Fundamentals (audiokinetic.com)

Found why it didn’t work. I am using Goflight devices to change frequency. Somehow there is some discrepancy between simconnect standby and active frequency. The unit in the plane does not have stand-by. But if I press the freq swap button on my device the unit in the sim is showing a different frequency than what I have just dialed in. If I change this too to the desired frequency the needle comes alive. Question is now: Are my rotaries changing the stand-by frequency or the active freq?
