are you trying to Captain Sim the BBS Islander bro?
To be fair thereâs nothing necessarily sinister about mentions of Blender.
As a re-painter Iâve used Blender often in doing repaints for MFS. It hasnât been required for my BN-2 repaints, old school skills did the job. But as anyone who has done repaints for an Asobo 152 or 172 or 208 Cessna (amongst others) could tell you , nice/accurate texture mapping to the tails especially is horrendous without Blenderâs help.
aka Crankpin on flightsim.to
yeah I think I read that over on the .to site - that painting the skin of the airplanes using that method gets rid of some of the artifacts ( default Baron G58 looking right at you) but just so weâre clear I was trying to be funnyâŠwith the typical result of me having to explainâŠ
ABSOLUTELY NOT !
Just pointing out the fact that our proprietary files are copyrighted
were certainly not in the business of suing re painters or claiming ownership of the repaints
no sir - THAT remark was pointed at the blender guy - not you
and so it goesâŠ
This fiasco will be stuff of legends in MSFS lore. I donât think they will ever live that down.
Oh well - play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Hi all
Can some one have a look at the fuel flow for me?
I have googled it as it seams very high to me.
(My gauges say App 25 Gal/ hours/engine ) in cruse at 130 knots).
My search says it should be about 45 lt / hour / engine. ( app 10 Gal/hour/engine)
Your thoughts?
Best wishes
Bob
@NightMercury358 Iâve found an issue that affects me when I have your Islander addon installed.
If I try to purchase something from the Marketplace, or re-download something from the âMy Contentâ page with the Islander addon installed, my sim crashes.
If I remove it, then it doesnât crash. I performed exhaustive testing of all my addons, first splitting them in half to eliminate most, and pinning my hopes on there not being an interaction between addons, or more than one addon, and this one is the only one that causes the crash.
Crash type is one of those access violation â0xc0000005â ones.
As I look through the six crashes today from my testing, there is one common element in them:
This line appears in each one:
LoadedModule[232]=C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\blackboxsimulation-bn2-islander\m0d900dced9496913_0.dll
I donât have many addons installed, 27 I think, and with the other 26 installed I get no crashes. I only crash with this one addon.
I did perform one additional test first, which I just remembered, and I removed one of the core sim planes, the 152. This gets re-installed by a different method, much like when a sim update is published. That worked even with the Islander installed IIRC. Itâs just Marketplace stuff affected.
Before I started this testing, I also had a crash when purchasing a scenery. It purchased okay, and downloaded okay, but just as it finished, creating the folder then tidying up the downloaded archive, thatâs when the crash occured.
investigating thanks
Good find, Iâve been experiencing the Marketplace crash too!
| Range at 60% power | 760 nm | 1,408 km plus reserve |
|---|---|---|
| Cruise airspeed at 60% power | 121 kt | 224 km/h |
| Fuel flow at 60% power | 25.5 US gallons/h | 97 l/h |
This must be Both engines then⊠12 and a bit Per Engine
checking range again
Something Iâve noticed, but not investigated was the sun visor. The pilot side sun visor obscures the thermometer in some variants. The one I remember that doesnât is the Malta military variant.
Blackbox default
Malta Armed Forces
The Malta variant is the only one that doesnât have the shape that the others have. Some difference between BN2, and BN2B?
I donât have the Marketplace crash (havenât bought something in a long time there) but when I install something from the content manager, after itâs downloaded I get a CTD.
Might be related.
ALL changed with V1.1
I will check they are clear though
Looking forward to it a lot! ![]()
Try temporarily removing the Islander, then re-test. Hopefully thatâs the cause.
what do you mean, remove the islander ? nooooooooo.
j/k will check later in the day and give feedback.
did some more flying with the Islander, although frankly one canât see much of the plane in the video.
If you guys want to see a real Islander in action with some good in-cockpit footage, have a look at this:
I wonder if the Eastern pilots are sitting there thinking âI wish I was flying that.â
Livery request.
Anyone able to crank out G-BLDV in the Black âHighland Parkâ livery?
I think the airline is North West Air & it flies in the Orkneys. (Probably Loganair)
I was watching a program on Archeology & the Presenter flew in it, possibly from Westray to Papa Westray.
Anyway, it is a very distinctive livery as it has wording on top of the wing. I couldnât catch all of it, but I suspect it said something like âThe Best Whiskey??â
TG
So sorry for the off topic, but where did you get the 5 pack of instruments to do that at the bottom of your screen???
