Velocity One Rudder - Brakes not responding

thank you so much, you have no idea, it was driving me crazy, after trying everything and contacting TurtleBeach who put me through basic repetitive troubleshooting steps. Which i had already done, everything was up to date. It’s not a consistent issue, somedays you’re lucky after rebooting your device.

But this, your workaround is the solution. I am also pretty sure this is known by turtle beach seeing it’s an older persistent issue, with many complaints

thanks again from the bottom of my heart @TenNight5500570

For everyone else; only turn the rudders on once the sim is at the main menu

Glad to help.

Thanks so much, this works for the problem on MSFS 2024 also

Hi all ,I am new to this forum and recently spent a lot of money buying the Turtle Beach yoke with throttles and the rudder brakes. I suffer the same problem as you with not able to use the brakes. I followed some of the suggestions posted but not all of them worked. Please can someone explain how to once and for all fix this hopefully.

Thank you very much for this, this seems to work , hopefully it will work every time I start up. I use Xbox X and flight sim 2020.

Hello, I have not read this entire thread so maybe you have already found what you need. If not, if you have not already done so, may I suggest doing a search as there are a number of threads that discuss this? I know I have contributed to one or more, so more info elsewhere?

Hello thank you very much I did find a lot more information about this repeating problem and the suggested solutions to get the system to work properly are working now thank you very much.

Hello I have Turtle Beach Yoke and throttle quadrant, Xbox X and recently connected the Brake Rudder peddles , the suggested fix by your members to get the brakes working has been very effective however I now have a sudden nosedive situation where the elevator trim jumps to full nose down for no apparent reason sometimes just after T/O or during climb out and cruise.
I found some people experienced this but found no fix. Please help!!! It’s spoiling my experience with this great service. :weary:

There is a firmware fix for this on the Turtle Beach support page. Or just install the TB app on your Xbox and check for updates.

I initially experienced this also but after the firmware update never saw it again.

How do I do a firmware update, sorry I am not so familiar with this. Kind regards

Just make sure that to run the update on the yoke/quadrant only, and if you have rudder pedals then you must disconnect the pedals, this means swapping the entire 3 x USB-C pass-through cable with the 2 x USB-C pass through cable.

Once the firmware update is finished you can swap the cables again.

You can do this on Xbox or PC.

Alternatively if you also want to check that the rudder pedals have the latest firmware (on Xbox) you should then use the 3 x USB-C pass through cable. Well I don’t know what is going on but the trim issue has reappeared.
I tried the recommended V1.5 update and followed the cable connection instructions but the Turtle beach yoke display show update mode but nothing is happening and after 1hr waiting for some kind of update I have to restart the system with no update showing still in V1.4.

I don’t use a computer but XBox X and wonder if that could be a problem? Please any suggestions very welcome. Thanks

I have seen that the update done through a computer is much more reliable. If you have a PC on hand I recommend using it to update the yoke.

I have a laptop, downloaded the TB app, but could not find any options to connect with the TB control centre for updates, I must be missing something here or not downloading the correct App.do I need to connect by cable the computer to XBox or wi fi will be ok .

If you are using the Velocity One on XBox you need to get the XBox App and download to update firmware. If you are using, he Velocity One on your PC you need to download the Control Center App to your PC and update frimware. There is not interconnection of PC and XBox. Not sure if I understood your question properly.

It’s all explained here.

If you update with a PC you need to ensure you change your velocity one to PC mode otherwise it won’t be recognized.

Once you finish and you connect it to your Xbox change it back to Xbox mode.
