VelocityOne Flight Stick Issues

After the amazing VelocityOne rudder pedals I’ve tried the yoke and was horribly disappointed and now I’m trying the basic flight stick (not the new flight deck/hotas) and I’m really wanting to like it but for some problems.

  1. It’s very stiff.
  2. The range of motion is too small.
  3. The center dead zone has a sloppy tolerance and comes up hard against the stiff springs.
  4. It often doesn’t want to fully return to center unless I bump it back into place.
  5. Built in track pad is interesting but would need to be disabled as it’s too small for use and causes unwanted inputs.

I’m feeling like VelocityOne puts all the money and effort into the electronics and skimps on the mechanical components. It just doesn’t have a good and realistic physical feel. :frowning:

Otherwise, the sensors are nice, and the trim wheel works great. But those don’t make up for the other issues.

I’ve already seen videos of guys opening this thing up and cutting the spring. Much like there are videos of guys putting effort into fixing the VelocityOne yoke.

I’m coming from a Thrustmaster t16000m. I’m starting to think the Thrustmaster may be one of the best sticks out there, lol. It has a large range of motion with a very consistent and realistic pressure. The center zone also doesn’t have that feeling of being in a hole.

I know there are probably some good combat sticks out there but I’m looking for just basic general aviation use.
