Very Bad VR experiance

Hi All , First of all My system Specs ( dont Laugh )
Ryzen 5 3600
32 gig ram
RTX 4060 8 gig
Windows 10
all drivers updated

First of all I have both FS2024 and FS2020 and have loved every minute playing in VR with my Oculus Rift and have had pretty good framerates with lower settings , recently I had problems with my X56 and Saitek yoke but eventually got that sorted via the forums on here .
Anyway I had seen that the HP Reverb V2 was no longer going to be supported in Windows 11 and as I run Windows 10 I picked up one on Ebay for less than £100 , I had heard how good they were with the resolution etc and thinking that now my sim was working so well couldnt wait to try it . How Wrong I was , both my flight sims are completly unplayable with FPS on both just reaching the 8 to 10 mark , thats with all settings low or medium and with DLSS enabled ,it makes no difference , Both sims work great in 2D mode but love VR , I know my specs arent up to much and will be upgrading in the near future . I have dabled with openxr etc , lowered the refresh rate of the Reverb with no luck. DCS works great Via Steam VR so whats with FS … thinking of getting my good old trusty Oculus Rift back out , I also have the Quest 2 but could never get that to work on my PC

Try any generic USB-C data cable for start and try this with your quest setup

Ok , I did a lot of research and found that somebody had written that He had found three new displays besides his monitor and that WMR creates them as virtual desktops for its own desktop viewer in other words windows desktop manager was using around 30% to 40% of his gpu , I did check mine and also found that I had now had four displays instead of one , after following advice on how to remove them with a registry entry , I loaded up FS2024 and I am now getting around 27 to 30 FPS which is a lot better than I was getting , a bit more tweaking and I should be getting smoother flights , but now have discovered a new problem , when flying helicopters with the X56 and pushing forward on the stick My head in VR starts looking down until i let go of the stick , is it a tracking problem or a conflict with headset and X56 … not even sure where to look in settings …

Thanks for the advice on the Quest 2 , I have a generic usb-c cable and will look into this many thanks

And right there, you’ve nailed it.

I have to agree here as well. VR is incredibly intensive for a machine. the OP might be able to get a little better performance out of it, but the system itself is going to limit the max performance that can be achieved.

Thanks for the advice and replys ,so with a limited budget just ordered a new PC case , 1000w PSU ,Motherboard [MSI PRO A620M-E AMD Socket AM5 , 64gig Kingston Fury Beast Ddr5 5600Mhz , Ryzen 7 7800X3D + Cooler Hope, this helps me and using same RTX GPU as I’ve only had that a few months

I hope it works out for you, but with that GPU and only 8GB VRAM I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
