I do use a mouse to control everything in the cockpit, but my flight stick or controller to move around. Free look is horrendous with a mouse currently indeed.
The copilot pics are hilarious and sad at the same time.
Which country are you in if you donât mind me asking? Some countries have laws which require businesses to issues refunds within a certain period, regardless of what rules/terms those businesses dictate for themselves.
Just tried a free flight for the first time since installing it, a320neo, something Iâm familiar with from 2020. The microsoft flight planner doesnât seem to work, doesnât add anything to the fms, canât get the ipad working, let alone load a sim brief flight plan, didnât get any further than starting the APU, had enough, uninstalled.
One last try tomorrow, then I will definitely refund too.
Canada.
Consumer laws donât force a merchant to reimburse. But they are not allowed to sell products that do not do what they are meant to do. Thatâs called fraud. lol.
The fact that MS manage to say â hold on, we have updates comingâ, and deny refunds is mind boggling.
Few Gremlins to iron out. In the main though youâre unhappy??
I think itâs pretty impressive. Loving the career mode. Lots of things to do now rather than just have to think up what to do in free flight every time.
StrikerX1,
I agree 100% with your post. Itâs Sunday morning and I have the house to myself. Normally I would launch my Xbox Series X and MSFS for an enjoyable session. But no longer with MSFS 2024 in play.
It appears the development focus has not included those using the xbox controller.
I say this because none of the extended menus in the EFB, or the Communications scroll. If you launch the cursor mode and manoeuvre to the right side sometimes you will see a scroll barâŠsometimes. If one does appear it is so narrow that it is virtually impossible to move it with the cursor using the controller.
This on top of all the other bugs and gaps has made MSFS 2024 a waste of time for the xbox community.
I am using a Microsoft gaming system with a Microsoft controller to try and play a Microsoft game at considerable expense.
I feel like I have been played.
Best advise to folks on XB with a controller I can give is goto the hardware settings, set the extreme dead zone to like 0.7 to give you a much more gentle time of things, on elevators in particular.
So many of the âautomated assistsâ to help with the yoke, controller sensitivity and trim, donât - they just make it worse.
Right now Rotorcraft CPL doesnât complete, ferry missions wont even start - to give it a chance in case the backend was slow, left it with the spinner as it would normally zoom to the briefing with no change.
Lot of love required; great to hear all the work being done for Addon support for the PC crowd, its not effort that will help anyone on XB one bit.
And if you are fighting with how to adjust the settings at all; need to be in free flight. Because of the horrid virtual mouse implementation theyâve done, and the double binding of the RB+click to turn on/off the virtual mouse and RB moving tabs ⊠its a mess.
Go into free flight, once in an aircraft, hit LB+Y to pause the sim, RB+LeftThumbClick to bring up the toolbar, select the controller icon, wait for the control panel page to appear, then move the cursor down over the hardware settings, and tweak.
When they said that the physics were going to be much more realistic, I thought this might bring more accurate control surface reactivity and reduce the need for extremity dead-zones. But as it turns out, they are needed more than ever. Airliners handle like a stunt planes in default settings
If they Bring back our reactivity slider from msfs 2020 it will be fine again
Yeah disappointed that disappeared
I dont understand why so many seemed to be surprised by performance on Series X.
Have they forgotton that Asobo had to scale back graphical fidelity of MSFS2020, just to keep it running, reasonably, on Series X.
Why do they think that a sim that Asbobo claimed would be graphically superior (more resource intensive) would perform better on the same console?
Because the new graphics engine makes use of multiple cores.
Well this might work out once Asobo do a lot of tweaking. Its obviously not reaping great benefits at the moment.
I found that exiting out of the EFB and then right back in allows me to scroll down in the middle of the screen using the controller sticks. If you get to the bottom before the end of text , then just take the pointer outside the box and then back in again.
Itâs a real pain to use
Thanks for the tip. Iâll try it!
